  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

Nothing like a great bounce back game for Cleveland baseball’s Joe Flacco. Ben Lively goes 6IP, 5H, 2R, 2BB, and 5K on 80 pitches. Quality start! Gaddis(1IP) and 🐉(1IP) combined to go 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, and 2K to wrap up the pitching today.

    ~~offense~~ hahahahahahaha

Chase DeLauter has really turned it on this week for Akron, as he has gone 7/15 with 3 home runs and 5 RBI, along with 2 strikeouts to 2 walks in their series vs Erie. CJ Kayfus is having an interesting day, with three strikeouts, but also a three run home run to give Akron a 6-5 lead(End 7th).

Down at AAA, Columbus bats are doing it today, with doubles from Arias and Valera and a triple from 😇 helping to give them a 5-0 lead (End 8th). Ryan Webb had the start today and went 5.2IP, 1H, 0R, 2BB, and 4K on 81 pitches for a great day of pitching.

Please beat the Yankees and don’t make me resort to Sound of Silence lyrics again.

  2. Overall, this series was extremely frustrating. Trying to find ways to stay positive. I don’t like how streaky we’ve become these past few weeks. Here’s to hoping that we can get some momentum back in this series against the Yankees… 👊

  3. They got swept but not for the reason they should get swept for.

    Lane Thomas is 6/53 with 27 k’s.

  4. Shit is ridiculous at this point. What do guys like Manzardo, Martinez, Brito, Valera, hell even Arias have to do get played over guys like Rocchio, Freeman, and Schneemann. It’s been beyond time to shake things up a bit and yet fuck all has happened

Wasted 2 great pitching performances from Bibee and Lively and now we get to go and pray that Boyd, Cobb, and Gavin can work something out against the Yankees

You have an off-day tomorrow, use it wisely

  5. This team won so easily in the first half of the year it feels like they have forgotten how to come from behind and win.

  6. I think the team is done we’re not even going to win the division. The only reason we did so well the beginning of the year was that teams didn’t take us seriously. Let’s hope New York doesn’t take us seriously and we can hit them

  7. What a frustrating offensive struggle. Unfortunately the Yankees usually spank us so I’m not overly optimistic about this next series. These guys better get it together quickly.

  8. I don’t know if anything hurts more than the bottom dropping out of kwan’s production. I really want them to try Jose in the 2-hole. What I think is happening is the clowns we’ve been playing in the 2-hole get zero respect, so the pitchers aren’t giving kwan much to hit, but instead of working the count and taking walks he’s pressing to make something happen and is just grounding out, popping out, flying out, and striking out on pitches out of the zone.

  9. so the Guards drop their 3rd straight on this trip, 2 – 0 to the Brewers. we got 0 runs on 2 hits, wait we only got 2 goddam hits

loud whisper by the GOAT color commentator: *you can’t say goddam on air!*

who cares, nobody is watching anyway

EDIT: OH DEAR people it’s a direct reference to Bob Uecker AKA Harry Doyle in Major League. who on Earth is downvoting he’s even still the Brewers radio announcer for crying out loud and still hit better than the Guards did the past 3 games

  10. I would appreciate it if we’d start playing well again. I felt pretty good coming into this series but that was rough. Some of it is shit luck, but a lot is just playing like shit.

Our pitching was overall good, except for Williams. But we’re just lost at the plate right now.

  11. Perplexing going from spanking the Cubs to this. Not sure what’s going on in the clubhouse, but something’s wonky and needs looked at.

Seems like Vogt’s moving too many pieces around on his 5D chessboard and other teams have figured us out.

  12. What sucks is that the game yesterday and today were winnable. The pitching let up only two runs. You need to capitalize on that.

  13. I just think this offense is mentally weak. Pitching seems to have that fight..but the hitters are just mentally feeble

  14. Hilariously, I think if we make the playoffs we have a legitimate crack at winning the World Series. Our pitching is great and No one hits in the post season. But we have to make it first to

  15. Our offense is offensive. Manager should take all non-pitchers on an 8-hour retreat tomorrow, inside the gut of a working coal mine. No spread of the freshest fruit, no bagels, no muffins!
