I know this is old and this is garbage, but how many of you actually believe scottie is that guy? And why do so few American pundits love him. I've watched every raps game since he was drafted I think it's clear scottie is on that mvp trajectory… They talk about Paolo like he's the next LeBron, what does he do better than Scottie?

Bill Simmons is not a good commentator
Never forget he thought the Nets/Celtics trade was “pennies on the dollar” for three aging players, two of whom were on expiring deals if I recall their situation correctly
The contracts for Scottie, Mobley and Cade were fine. I think Franz was a slight overpay for a guy who is probably the 2nd or 3rd option if/when the Magic become a true contender but there is something to be said about not souring a relationship with your players early on by not getting a rookie extension done when said player has proven something in their first 3 years
A lot of the time, you’re extending these guys with the hopes they’ll get better. Scottie was already an All-Star (albeit he was an injury replacement) so expectations for him are very high now that he’s the undisputed number 1 option on the team.
Nothing wrong with the Scottie contract if there’s one contract that we want to nitpick on it’s that we overpaid IQ.

Scotties contract for his production to date is so amazingly standard. Period. “Is he the guy” lol doesn’t matter.

The point that the Raptors should have waited before extending him (similar to Maxey) also shows he doesn’t understand cap holds for lottery picks.
