  1. There was no room for Podkolzin on the roster. They get a 4th and free up a million in cap without having to send him down to Abby. The Canucks need to add a top 4 defenseman, perhaps at the deadline if they're still in contention, and this absolutely helps them do that. It's unfortunate, but they weren't going to get anything for him. He's shown nothing offensively at the NHL level and he's barely an NHL player.

  2. Alvin better be cooking to add someone else like a top 4dman. Kinda mad that they only got a 4th i would have been happy with a 3rd but lets see what alvin does with that 3.5 mil in cap

  3. No room for Podz.

    1. JT Miller
    2. Elias Pettersson
    3. Brock Boeser
    4. Jake DeBrusk
    5. Pius Suter
    6. Nils Hoglander
    7. Dakota Joshua
    8. Teddy Blueger
    9. Conor Garland
    10. Kiefer Sherwood
    11. Danton Heinen
    12. Daniel Sprong
    13. Phillip Di Giuseppe
    14. Nils Aman
    15. Linus Karlsson

Literally no room for Podz. If Sprong sucks defensively then Karlsson will get his shot

  4. The team just hasn't seen enough to make Podz a full-time NHL player. I guarantee they were thinking ok we can't put him on waivers for nothing, so let's check if someone wants him. The Oilers would be near last to place a claim, so they paid a 4th for a guy who was going to be waived for nothing. Holloway won't be matched, so I guess the Oilers think Podz is a compromise. It could work, but what's more likely is he gets waived when Kane gets back.

  5. Hope he gets a chance in Edmonton. Losing a top10 draft pick for nothing sucks.

Does him leaving for nothing at least free up some cap space? This deal should have included the Poolman contract lol

  6. The biggest concern remains our 3rd D Pair. Either Tocchet really believes Adam Foote can work his magic on these large men, or we're going to be spending a whole lotta time in our zone due to poor ability to carry that puck out.
I really hope we fix this at the trade deadline.

  7. Podz scored 14 goals in his rookie year. He was 20 years old. The organisation imploded and it wasn't Podkolzin. Allvin has no patience and doesn't give a crap ,signing free agents to take his place.
This reminds me of the Dickinson and a second rounder Allvin got hosed on. I hope Podkolzin breaks out and shines every time the Oilers play the Canucks for the next ten years;.
