New Orleans Saints Offense Shows Life, But Young Passers Struggle In Loss

The New Orleans Saints starting offense and Derek Carr put together quite a scoring drive after some early struggles. But it was followed with more concern than confidence. While preseason struggles/success rather translate to the same in the regular season, Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener left a lot to be desired and the Saints defense still ran into trouble tackling opposing quarterback sand Joshua Dobbs again tormented them with scrambles for big yards and extending plays.

  1. I think Carr looked better than Rattler and Haener in this game but I still think Rattler should be the backup because he doesnt force throws and he uses his legs.

  2. Let's see, Rattler was brought back down to earth, Bud Bundy's doppelganger laid an egg in the final drive, and Penning, well; it was a little better than last week; for now. The Saints don't have a legit #2, and maybe it's time to sign Tannerhill.

  3. Turner has no idea how to keep contain. Foskey is almost as bad. If Turner plays correctly on Dobbs’ TD Howden isn’t on an island. He bit hard on the inside run all night and the whiners knew exactly what to run when they needed to score.

  4. The only drive that mattered to me was the 2nd drive that ended up in a 1 yd TD by Hill. I saw Kubiak making the necessary adjustments on play calling to move the 49ers defense out of their comfort zone compared to their first drive. I think having Hill, Williams, and Kamara to rotate will bode well for the offensive schemes. I'm expecting to see a lot of successful runs inside the tackles, which will set up the play action passes. The Saints offense and defense will feast this year. 12 plus wins is what I believe.
