  1. Neris is an option for 2025, if he pitches in 60 games this year it becomes a player option. We will know soon if the Cubs are interested in him next year, he has pitched in 46 games so far.

  2. Per Spotec, Neris has a two tier option for 2025. Sorry to say he’s reached first tier status. If he pitches in 45 games and does not have a IR stint in 2024, his 2025 salary is guaranteed.

  3. the game was as it always is. Wisdom the strike out king. And Swanson leaving 5 men on base because he loves to take strike one. And he loves to strike out looking, then whining. ANYTHING close you MUST swing the bat. Who cares if it is one inch inside? Judge hit his 300 dinger on a 3-0 pitch on a pitch two inches too far inside. But he knows he can do damage on close pitches and he is READY to hit. The Cubs are never ready to hit. The reason they get shut out 5 times in 27 games? They NEVER swing when they should.

  4. Lopez and Miller throw strikes. The Vlade K – lets be serious – Vlade say the rain and said screw this, Im ready for that Chicago steak. No more rain delays. Ha. Still wondering where we are going to add a bat. Trade Hoerner but we assume Shaw will be the replacement. I keep hearing all these Busch positive stats. 6th in Ops for 1b. Go look at KCs DH/ 1B. Busch has a better OPS , but this guy is hitting .265 18 HRs. 92 RBI and 61 Ks. Just one example.

  5. I think one of the biggest issue with the Cubs is they have hard time playing small ball. Wrigley Field is a very interesting ballpark. When the wind is blowing out, it's mostly a hitter friendly ballpark. However, when the wind is blowing in, it's mostly a pitcher friendly ballpark. When the wind blows in, they have to play small ball.

  6. Maybe Tom Ricketts will get his friends to build him a giant wall that will block the wind and save him from the wrath of the fanbase. And then he can build a big mansion on top of the wall and block our sunlight. And find more excuses to rob us while increasing the wealth gap. And then he can put everyone else he doesn’t like behind the wall to keep them out.

  7. Guys, it has been a year of hardship for the Cubs.! I never seen so many unknow Cy Young pitchers in my life! For example, today was a perfect example. Jay's Cy Young pitcher was incredible. Cubs with no offense, shutout! Enjoy!

  8. Sorry what I'm going to say tom ricketts let jed hoyer fire david ross last year Manager is not only thing fix chicago cubs but tom ricketts doesn't not care about winning I want just cubs have right talent players for chicago cubs

  9. I really enjoy this season Cubs, I don’t know why you guys are so pissed. This is NOT a legit, sure playoff team from beginning, the bullpen problem everyone knows we don’t have a closer. I just don’t get people’s expectation why ridiculously high. It is a young ascending team waiting for the young talent to blossom. And this year I see so many positive things happened on the development. Why you guys are trying so hard to push this team into a Dodger, Yankees, Braves level?? I don’t understand, that’s why you guys are so miserable. You all try to find any little reason to expect the Cubs to win every game!!! That’s really unfair expectation on them, you are literally trying to destroy this young team!!! Unbelievable !!! I now know why Cubs has 108 years without winning a WS, it’s the fans! Their unrealistic expectations every game, every year!!! We finally had a total rebuild and have so many young talent to look forward to, yet every day I hear is Neris, Amaya, Hendricks, Swanson…. Common

  10. When you are bashing the signing/using of Neris, tell me who got Lopez, Miller, Hodge? Who is using them? Are they the different people??? They are the same people !!! If you expect GM makes every single decision right, manager makes every moves right, you are not qualified to be a real baseball fan! You think Craig doesn’t know all that? Then why he is using him that way?? Is he stupid trying to make Cubs lose??? I know what Craig is doing this year, he gives enough chance to know a player, where is his limit and how to use him. From Alzoly to Neris to Morel, he is not short sighted like most of us, but he will make a right call at a point he is sure. He doesn’t have another option he thinks is better than Neris on the 40 man team to replace him. So if he is on the 23man team, he has to use him, he has to use him the best way contributes to the team success in mind. And I have total confidence he will make a right call for the long term future of this team!

  11. I am so pissed when people say Jed has to go. Who traded away Bryant, Baez, Rizzo?? Look at those players now! Who got Busch, Imanaga, Lopez, Suzuki, Cody? Who made the Cubs bullpen from bottom to top 5 right now?? Jed and Craig! Who build this top 3 farm system without trading away any player that is a star right now contributing on other teams ?? I can’t believe people turn their back on him that quick!

  12. After last season finished, my worry was injury to Steele, Leiter, Alzoly, cause they were used so heavy! And Everyone injured. That’s why I think it is still a rebuilding year. Two months good ball fooled everyone think they are ready! Yes they would be contending team if all their current core players play to their ceiling, but how likely is that and without injury? We can dream that scenario to happen, BUT we can’t blame them when that did not happen! We should know better, we should know it is a long shot, yet we look for people to blame when things don’t go our way!
