Laine to MTL

Laine and a second to MTL

  1. Was worth a coin flip tbh. Hate that we never seem to be able to make a trade in an attempt to get better but everyone else in our division can.

  2. I would have loved to see this deal done by Buffalo, but it wasn’t, so I’m over it.

  3. Probably the last viable, obtainable player they could have added to the top six this offseason.

This roster is locked in, for better or worse.

  4. Montreal will still be bad so this is just getting the 2nd then flipping laine most likely at the deadline, unless they think they can compete now which would be very funny.

Getting laine would’ve been very good for us as it would give us a very high ceiling guy in our top 6 if he works out, we had the cap room to take a gamble like laine and it didn’t cost much at all. Internal cap is so real

  5. I’m really concerned that the lack of major moves and risks is going to handcuff this team to being on the outside looking in again , and this time, core guys like Dahlin and Thompson asking out.

  6. Sabres can never do shit to pull an all star player and it sucks. Seems like we need that to pull us together but we stay doing pointless offseason shit.

  7. Prior to the summer starting, there were rumors that Buffalo and Philadelphia were in talks about Farabee. I wonder if that picks back up now that Laine is spoken for. From what I remember reading, Danny Briere likes Krebs, so maybe the last piece of the puzzle is coming?

  8. This guy is basically tall Jeff Skinner, I can see why we didn’t want to trade for him.

  9. Adams had the worst possible off season. Played it safe AND gave up assets for a nothing player. I would rather he ran back last season and not given up Savoie….Or had gone all in for something risky but at least its shaking things up.

  10. Another guy Adams let’s get traded to a division rival. I’m sorry guys but I’m not looking forward to this season.

  11. This was a miss for Buffalo. Everyone on here in denial that we avoided a bad trade? but once again everyone around us is getting better.
