So the Bulls would have just as much money tied up for just as long in Porter and Nnaji, but the primary guy they get back is a "me guy" who doesn't defend according to the Nuggets GM Calvin Booth. What is the benefit to the Bulls? No added financial flexbility. No improvement on the defensive end. No improved team culture by ridding yourself of the "me guy" in LaVine. No added health questions as Porter is far from reliable. LaVine might not have great trade value, but these trades that offer lesser players on similarly bad contracts for just as long or longer make zero sense.
