  1. We’ve finally made it to the last team on the list. Thanks to everyone who followed along, I enjoyed reading all the discussions and seeing the other players that were brought up in the comments. Can’t wait for hockey season to start again! Until then enjoy the rest of the summer.

EDIT: Sorry this got posted like a billion times for some reason I don’t know what happened. The other ones should be deleted now.

    (continued in reply)

  3. Gagner was pretty good at the start of last season, had some big goals for us. It was a shame he got injured

  4. Bobby Hull played 9 seasons in Winnipeg and helped us to two WHA championships. His number 9 is retired by our Jets 1.0 franchise. Not what I would call an “unusual” Jet.

  5. I was like wait a sec didn’t Hull sign with the Jets starting the whole rebel league thing, how did he only play…oh NHL

  6. IIRC Winnipeg traded Draper to the Wings for one dollar. Also, Rittich’s kit with that uniform is 🔥

  7. Great list filled with lots of Trade Deadline picks. Lee Stempniak – first Jets playoff goal. Starting off with Alexei Ponikarovsky was a great one. That was a quick – “We have made a UFA signing mistake” and one of the few complete missed by Chevy.

    Could have also included;

    Keaton Ellerby (52 games)

    Luca Sbisa (44 games)

‘Waiver pickup’ Nick Shore (42 games)

    T.J. Galiardi (38 games)

    Shawn Mattias (72 games)

‘Room guy’ Matt Hendricks (64 games)

Puckdoku Legend Mike Santorelli (10 games)

    Al Montoya (35 games)

Chris ‘the First Backup’ Mason (20 games)

Gabriel ‘Not Ray’ Bourque (52 games)

  8. Bobby hull is not an unusual jet lmao. He was like ten years in wpg. If anything him on another team seems unusual.

  9. Winnipeg traded us Draper for $1. He won 4 cups and a selke here. I’d say that was a pretty solid trade

  10. These are so fun to go through, great job! Been patiently waiting for the Jets, and wow, a few names I’d already forgotten! One player I might have added was Serge Savard; even though he played two seasons in Winnipeg, it was always weird seeing him not in a Canadiens sweater 😉

    Thanks for making these!

  11. The Golden Jet is not unusual. Hell, Kenny Omega/Chris Jericho named their tag team The Golden Jets after him.

  12. Bizarre to include Bobby Hull just because a majority of his time in Winnipeg was in the WHA.

  13. As a Winnipegger and fan of both (NHL, too young to remember the WHA) incarnations of the Jets, I remember all of these guys.

A few that aren’t really “unusual” (and yes, I know this is all in good fun):

    – Bobby Hull: number retired by Jets 1.0, played multiple seasons in Winnipeg (mostly WHA) and famously defected from the NHL to join the rogue league and become a Jet.

    – Eakins and Fehr are both local Manitoba boys. They were known here well before they put on a Jets sweater. Fehr was also part of the advance group of players that made all the media appearances, etc., after the announcement that we were getting a team again. Very high-profile even though he didn’t play a lot of games.

    – Rick Bowness (who I assume is in here as a joke) is quite well-known for playing here and then coaching Jets 1.0 AND 2.0.

I’m shocked about Bryan Marchment, though. I (incorrectly) remember him being a Jet for way longer, so I guess he made an impact during his short tenure.

  14. Not gonna lie. There’s a lot of guys on this one who are rarely thought about regardless of where they played!
