  1. Not sure what Murphy was doing tonight. Really really really bad. To give Williams the ball for the 9th in the first place is questionable, let alone after the first 4 pitch walk. Very obvious he’s been overworked. Such a stupid loss

  2. I’m so glad we’re 11 games ahead so I can laugh at how stupid that was instead of cry

  3. Hard to complain after a 6 game win streak but man that one is a complete momentum killer. Should’ve been a win and hurts more for the 1-2 seed. Hopefully they can respond back tomorrow because this one was rough.

  4. I must say, as deep into the season as we are, there have been so few of these gut-wrenching style losses. They’re going to happen in baseball, plenty can be said about going to Megill too late, etc. But I’m going to take it as a good sign that implosions like this have been so rare.

  5. One of those pulled defeat from the jaws of victory games. At least its a regular season game with a double digit lead.

    Tomorrow, get the series win.

  6. Bullpen was poor, but Murphy is the story of this game. Never seemed like he had a grasp on what decisions to make tonight, and he became more of a spectator than a manager in the 9th. Got himself thrown out for little to no reason just to get out of there.

  7. Well that was a fun streak. We were probably feeling ourselves a bit too much and this is the kind of thing that’s good for a team. A lot of sloppiness today from pitching to coaching but sometimes you need to be punished for that and tonight we were

  8. Here me and wife purchased our 40 game plan …. I want a refund now cuz this team ain’t got it!

    /S in case…

    Gonna have nights like this

  9. We’ve got the lead to absorb these types of losses for now but this sort of thing cannot happen in 5 weeks. No big deal for the season, a sour tint to the evening. I never want to give St. Louis any joy

  10. when bases were loaded in the ninth i literally told my dad “it’s okay if he gives up the game, i can’t be mad at devin.”

and then the eight straights balls and i guess i lied

  11. Is it just me or was the Williams body language evident?

He looked frustrated and tired way before the wheels fell off.

Still think Megill should have got the 9th to begin with.

  12. I just wanna know what the couch guy thinks about this one. Can we get a comment from the couch guy?

  13. I’m happy the team is still hitting so well. Pitching can and will go down and bounce back. The bats staying hot is so so positive.

  14. That was bad enough that I no longer think Pat Murphy should be manager of the year. Just kidding!!! He’s done a great job this year…. except in the 9th inning tonight. That said, the way Megill pitched, maybe he would’ve blown it as well.

The horrible umpiring put everyone on edge, and Devin just couldn’t figure things out and was mentally and physically toast like 2 or 3 batters before he got yanked. Just an awful night.

  15. My fault, fam.

I accidentally checked the score in the bottom of the 9th, thinking that the game was over.
