  1. Team just looked deflated after yesterday just no offense after the 1st inning and bullpen just wasn’t good this series. All we need is to win the series in Oakland and it’s a fine road trip but we always struggle vs teams like that so it’s a bit concerning. We are fine in the division but all this series did was hurt ground for the 1-2 seed.

  2. That’s why you can’t afford to drop dumb games like yesterday if you wanna compete for a bye.

Hopefully they can get back on track against Oakland.

  3. Losing today wouldn’t feel so bad if last night didn’t happen… Oh well, on to Oakland

  4. Well that was less than satisfying. The only game we won we beat the borderline starting pitcher they outbid us on with the guy we had to settle for.

  5. They flailing at the ball like “uhhhh”, just no decisiveness or confidence.

Swing with authority. Be more like “Graaaaah, my hit!”. Go out and get the hit, don’t wait for the hits to just happen.

  6. I’m just going to pretend this series didn’t happen. Certainly hope this isn’t a sign of our bullpen starting to crack.

  7. Can’t really complain too much overall given the state of the standings and the fact that it’s just two losses on the road to the Cardinals who are always very annoying, but both losses were pretty putrid.

Back on my Sal Frelick soapbox, the guy has 3 hard-hit balls in his last 35 plate appearances (and they were hit 95.4mph, 96.5, and 96.5). It’s just not sustainable to have such an absurdly weak bat continue to play the full game every single day and expect productivity. It just isn’t. 14 weeks since his last homer. Only 9 balls hit harder than 98mph since JUNE!! Cannot wait for Perkins/Mitchell to eventually be the everyday duo when we figure out that Frelick’s utility will obviously be maximized as a defensive sub/pinch runner.

The bad offense today went deeper than just one guy obviously. But I’m just so sick of watching 80mph, 0.010 xBA pop-ups.

  8. I realize I’m in the minority but I still think they should save replay for the playoffs.
