  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

If only everyone who was saying they were gonna stop watching in the game thread actually left and stopped being here… I get you’re here because they’re your team just like mine, but man, when you have no faith and are just shitting on every part of their game, why stay? I’m not saying don’t criticize the bats or the bullpen management or the non IBBs, I sure am, but don’t just say things like “season over we’re not making the playoffs.”

The Big Rig was on the mound and pitched a good game. Gavin had a final line of 4.1IP, 4H, 3R, 4BB, and 5K on 98 pitches. Only run allowed (while in the game) and it being to Judge makes it a quality day in my book.

Connor Gillispie freaking cooked, I thought he was gonna be the next McChicken but instead he’s serving them! Gillispie went 2.2IP, 1H, 1R, 3BB, and 2K on 48 pitches.

(Sandlin 0.2IP, 1H, 2R, 1BB, 0K) As much as Sandlin shouldn’t be the fire extinguisher any more, the fact that Stanton was able to muscle [that pitch](https://x.com/mlb/status/1826694354712318246?s=46&t=rWqJkSYZ5Iu5l6BKiyo2mg) out is insane.

Daytime baseball and I covered all the minors yesterday… hm… how about an update on everyone’s new favorite Aussie? Travis 🍌 Bazzana has played 14 games with High A Lake County and is hitting .235/.391/.392 with 5 doubles, 1 homer, and 10 walks to 18 strikeouts. Over his last 6 games(last 2 minor league series), he has hit .350/.435/.550, showing he’s adjusting very well as time goes on.

  2. One hit and it was Kwan leading off. Embarrassing

Make some fucking changes please. There are guys in AAA who have better odds at contributing something. Quit sitting on your fucking hands for the love of all that is holy. Bring me 3 of Manzardo, Arias, Valera, Brito, and Angel

Sandlin can also go too. Bring me Andrew Walters

  3. Offense has looked absolutely pathetic. Feels like our bats are cooked right now, need to bring up some guys to get a boost

  4. Great tweet from Zach Meisel:

“On their 1-5 roadtrip, the Guardians had 57 innings at bat. Here’s the offensive breakdown:

    5 innings with one run

    1 inning with three runs

    1 inning with six runs

    50 innings with zero runs”

  5. Sport teams in which my hatred knows no bounds:

    1. ttun
    2. NY Yankees
    3. Baltimore Ravens

  6. I’m overreacting I’m sure but like I said in the game thread, this series (especially against NY) just laminates how we are as a team. No matter how good we are, or seem to be, it’s just never going to be enough. Never.

    Almost feels pointless.

  7. This lineup is completely lost right now. Talk about falling off a cliff. In the first half of the season the guys were always fired up. Now they’re just lifeless in the middle of a pennant race.

  8. We have to make the playoffs and hope to get hot. That’s all that matters. Baseball more than any other sport sees unexpected teams win if they just get in. We’ve had an amazing year which has given us enough of a cushion to absorb these stretches. Just have to get through this last month and win against the Twins and Royals.

  9. They’re so fucking bad, you guys.

Like at this point why not call up Manzardo, Valera, Brito? It literally cannot get any worse. Instead we’re wasting ABs on guys we know by now aren’t worth a fuck.

Tyler Freeman is a borderline major league player on a bad team. There is no way he should be on a team that’s allegedly trying to win the division. Same goes for Rocchio, Schneemann, Brennan. These guys are average on their best day.

  10. This team is literally the worst in the league at quality of contact (they are last in xWOBACON, e.g. expected results of a ball in play), they are somehow just as bad as last year at this point. They also are last in chase rate. I’m sorry but you cannot carry Rocchio, Freeman, Gimenez, Brennan, and Martinez. Choose 2.

Arias was terrible to start the year, but his .390 xwobacon is 2nd on the team even in that sample size. Manzardo was also terrible and yet he still had a better barrel % than anyone not named Jose, Josh, or Noel. Believe it or not, but Lane Thomas is 3rd on the team in xWOBACON, he has been getting very unlucky.

I’m sorry but I am just sick of the teams hitting philosophy. They keep trying to recreate Jose Ramirez by turning contact guys into power-pull guys. Jose is a complete anomoly in today’s game. This team needs to cure their allergy to strikeouts. Look at Judge, he has a pretty bad k%, but he is successful because he can impact the ball. He is also an anomaly, but his profile isn’t, and I hate that the guardians keep investing so heavily in a contact profile that simply isn’t successful in today’s game.

  11. I don’t know which part I hate more, the decision to throw meatballs to Judge or the offense.

  12. The worst part in all this losing is Twins fans and their lousy advanced metrics are starting to look vindicated.

  13. Like a car that raced out to a big lead but never made a pit stop for more gas….just trying to make it to the end before it craps out

  14. seriously though, fans deserve so much better. everyone could see that this team needs better starting pitchers and couple bats, and the Guardians front office didn’t go for it.
