  5. CeeDee and Jamarr are clearly better than Aiyuk. And JJ is also much better and already signed. So their contracts really shouldn’t affect Aiyuk’s unless he’s crazy and would raise his asking price. But dude has no leverage for that and the Niners have already let him test his market, he knows what the league values him at. Waddle and ARSB are his best comps for a contract.

  6. Honestly just trade him at this point. This contract is already going to screw us over in the next few years.

Sorry BA I really liked you but this is dumb.

  7. At this point they should offer him their final offer and leave it at that. FO did everything they could. 3 different trade partners and multiple offers given. Let him play out his 5th yr 14mil contract if he thinks he’s so special that he can set his own market.

  8. This sounds more like a Praage and York thing at this point. Some of the beat reports have said the same thing. Guaranteed money could be the hold up and York just paid Bosa and next year Purdy.

So could be low on money? (I doubt it’s that low though)

  9. The problem with trading him is the value we are getting back isn’t worth it. Worst case scenario we don’t do shit he plays under his 5thyr option, and then we either tag him with the non exclusive tag, if he gets signed we get picks, or we let him walk in free agency and get at least a 3rd as a comp pick. Any offer for a trade now, has to be better than those.

  10. Is Lynch implying that Aiyuk is holding out in the hopes that CeeDee and Chase sign before him?

  11. Breaking News: Price increases when market rate increases.

This reporter’s a business genius and should be teaching MBA courses lol.

  12. His options are to play out his 5th year option at 14million, pray he doesn’t get injured and doesn’t regress. Next year let’s say the gamble pays off and he receives a 4 year 32 million extension.

or, hypothetically sign 26 million today over a very hypothetical 5 years.

Homie comes ahead signing for 26 mill today than he does signing 32 mill next season. He has very little leverage here or reason to hold out.

  13. Jfc, at some point, they need to just shrug it off and say, “Fine. Sit out a year. Try to get 30 million in free agency after a year on the inactive list.” I know they won’t. I really don’t even think they should. I’m just tired of this crap.

  14. Twice the bitch of T.O. with half the talent. If you can’t trade him this year, tag and trade him next year.
