  1. I personally feel Barrett’s ceiling is higher than you made it sound. His coverage ability combined with his pass rush ability is the exact kind of contrasting versatility that Mike Macdonald drools over. And with one of the best linebacker coaches in the league working alongside Macdonald, Barrett could surely evolve into a great starting LB

  2. I remember commenting on Jackson being worth a 6th or 7th and that's what we got plus a little more. Linebackers are underpaid and valued because you need size speed and stop start speed. There are not many of those around. I'm sure he is a special teammer for Harbaugh Jr.

  3. Dear lord, I completely agree with your fan-hearted comments. I loved Pete, maybe not out of the gate, but he had the best run of any Seahawks coach, but the fire was gone and another year of middling play, lifeless with clueless coaching and looking for a great bounce to raise a pulse. Way too much talent to perform like that. Tired of wondering if teams would lose, cards fall right and just maybe open a door.
I looked at team play through the first preseason game. Not sure I’d really looked at a first preseason game like that in 4-5 years. At least it feels like that.. THRILLED to have a defensive coach to stiffen that front. Hopeful that Grubb and Huff and their continuity can give Geno the time to open Grubbs playbook up to all Grubbs special sauce plays.
Can’t wait to seeing-game strategy morph with these coaches. Looking forward to putting preseason vanilla behind us, and finding what we got. There’s an energy that’s sparking for sure. I absolutely expect some ups and downs this year, but I too couldn’t see less than 9 wins and suggested up to eleven while hoping for more.
Watch that spark turn into a bonfire.

  4. Fair trade considering that MJ wasn't going to make the team due to the numbers game. They got something for him before the cutdown. Carolina gets a starter in their defense. Everyone wins

  5. Well great that they are looking at this guy to play special teams because thats what he played primarily at Michigan. My concern is the apparent fragility of both Dodson and Baker makes it highly possible we will need the 4th ILB to play some LB and possibly even start at some point this season. If Barret couldnt even win the Michigan starting LB job, how good of an NFL LB is he going to be if called upon. Im not optimistic. Honestly feel like they should have signed Zach Cunningham.
