“I don’t think you’ll ever hear someone say they were excited to be traded to New Orleans” – Josh Hart

  1. This is unfortunate because these comments do matter and the fanbase adored him, but it’s no secret really.

New Orleans has struggled to put together a contender. Somewhat due to injury history, yes. And we are a very small city that may not offer as much to a young wealthy star.

Almost any other small market will be in the same boat.

The dig is he said “anyone would not be happy”. I think he should have spoke for himself.

  2. Josh is acting cool now. Dude was legit “excited” when he came to Nola. Lying now but we know.

  3. Josh Hart is a troll. When he isn’t making fun your team, fans love him.

We are a small market, football town, and aren’t really contenders. Until we can bring a consistent winning program, we aren’t a destination for most players. But you can say that for at least 50% of the teams. NBA is so top heavy in teams and cities to play for.

  4. Alright man. We may not be contenders, but neither are you. Doesn’t matter how many friends you add to your team, you’re still an inevitable 2nd round loss in a weak Eastern Conference. Totally unnecessary to talk down to a city that genuinely liked you

  5. Hart was traded for CJ McCollum, who wanted very much to come to New Orleans, it was widely reported at the time.

  6. Weighing in as a lifelong Knicks fan that also loves the Pels & who has family in both NYC & NOLA: this is definitely a bummer to hear; but also, I think there is some element of truth. New Orleans is a smaller market, for starters, and a lot of these dudes in their early life are thinking ‘bigger is better’. Also, the Pels organization doesn’t have the same status or track record of winning that some other teams do – that is to say: are they building a winner? are they going into the second apron? It is possible, but not like some teams who seem to genuinely wanna win every year.

That said, the Pelicans are an underdog franchise, like the Knicks. I’m really not sure whats better/worse – not having won a title in the 22yrs of your franchise, or your franchise being 80yrs old & not having won a title in over 50 years. I would think Josh would have a bit more sense than this quick quote, but I guess all these things are relative. I’m sure he didn’t mean to sh!t on NOLA – I mean, I really sincerely hope not, anyway.

  7. I’m from Lafayette and love Nola because I’ve been there a million time and it’s home, but let’s be real guys. Yeah Nola has awesome culture and food, but the city itself sucks. I mean he went from the second largest city in America where the weather is always perfect to a city that never fully recuperated after Katrina. The streets are pothole ridden, crime is rampant, and it’s like 100 degrees at 60% humidity for almost a quarter of the year. I don’t think his comment is false at all.

  8. Josh Hart: Have yall ever tasted yall significant others breast milk? Asking for a friend

  9. think he’s just trolling and being salty cause cj specifically was the one who requested a trade here in exchange for him. probably got him butt hurt.

also have y’all seen dejounte on instagram? that dude is genuinely pumped to play for us. i been following him since the trade went down and he’s posted nothing but his excitement almost every day. i believe he’s actually training down here right now

  10. It’s time we stop calling him “Pels legend”, naji did what hart did for us for millions less than what we paid josh

  11. “If you love New Orleans, she’ll love you back.” But the reverse is true too, bye Felicia.

  12. But a lot of y’all think players are lining up to come to the Pels and when you do have good players that want to stay reddit and twitter gets flooded with trade demands.
