  1. Very interesting that they discussed Demidov as a potential #1 center, I was just assuming he’s going on the wing.

Having a 1/2 punch of Demidov and Suzuki would be pretty deadly.

  2. Cant wait for our future boys& girls. We have such top class management that really wants a long term success for our beloved Montréal Canadiens.

So glad Molson decided to turn the page and embark on this long overdue chapter.

  3. So, unless there’s some really clever editing — that move from 26 to 21 was all for Hage!

and if he was taken beforehand, they were re-trading the pick

  4. Interesting that at least some of our scouts see Demidov as a center.

Billy Ryan said “I’d take Demidov, you get a potential number 1 center vs a top six scoring winger”.

  5. Kaprizov + Jack Hughes sounds good to me

also Aatos looks big sitting across from those guys, are they just short? cuz hes only listed at 6′ I think?

  6. Love these draft videos, I hope they keep doing it!

Seeing the clips of our top prospects at the end of the video had me hitting the Hopeium.

  7. Impressive to see we had a team willing to give us an unprotected 1st in what’s believed to be a better draft class and an early 2nd. Allegedly a bad team so I’m assuming it’s Ottawa.

  8. Our analytics guy seems to like Koivu which is interesting. Bobrov said Hage had a 20% chance of being there at 21, so I can see why they were all so happy after the draft with Demidov + him.

  9. what did they blur/cut out that Marty said after he asks the second group about Demidov? @ 10:54

is it another player’s name, since they explain earlier that they were tasked with analyzing pairs of players, some profane nickname, or just throwing some curses out there in a room with the boys?

  10. I’m glad this just confirmed what we all thought, they were all laughing walking onto the stage to pick Demidov.

  11. I’m really curious if there was anything actually on the table when Kent asked Marty “if he isn’t there at 5, do you trade 5 for their first round unprotected and a 2nd?” And what team it was.

I’m glad we got Demidov but that alternate reality made my ears perk lol

  12. C’est intéressant d’entendre Aatos Koivu dire qu’il a plus cherché conseil auprès de son oncle (Mikko) qu’auprès de son père face à la pression d’être «le fils de…».

  13. Aatos Koivu has the best flow I’ve seen on a Hab since I don’t know when … what a mane

  14. Demidov looks just as happy to be selected by the Habs as we were that the Habs selected him, and I didn’t think that was possible

  15. Does Hannu Laine (habs finland scout, the guy who called Aatos Koivu) has any link with Patrick?

  16. Oh man I wish I knew what those two trades Kent was discussing would have been. Who was going to give us their unprotected first-rounder? And what were we doing with #21 if Hage didn’t fall to us.

C’mon, Kent. Write your autobiography already!

  17. Interesting trade offer, Chicago was said to be shopping the following year’s pick unprotected. It was rumoured they wanted Demidov but maybe they were after Lindstrom or another …

There was certainly more to the deal, you can see some flash editing to cut off what KH says…

  18. God damnit i love this fucking video so much i’ve watched it twice now

It’s so fucking refreshing to see how open they are about the entire thought process, to openly admit that they had trades in place if the guys they wanted weren’t available

Demidov is like this cross between Kovalev and Ivan Drago

I’m rooting so fucking hard for Michael Hage, i can’t not tear up whenever footage of the draft starts

Hearing about Aatos Koivu’s family screaming and jumping on him after getting drafted to his Dad’s legendary franchise…

    The fucking Patrik Laine trade

Boys, mark my words, we will cherish this offseason till the day we die
