  1. Also can’t overlook the difference between pitching in front of the fourth best defence in the majors versus the fifth worst.

  2. Defense Runs Saved:

    2024: 3rd place

    2023: 2nd place

    2022: 6th place

    2021: 6th place

    2020: 24th place (weird year)

    2019: 12th place

    2018: 2nd place

    2017: 10th place

    Do you see a trend?

Eventually other teams will catch on, but it is easier to pay for runs defensively than offensively. All we are doing is swapping the idea of scoring a run with saving a run. Find pitchers who keep the ball in the yard, and then have our defense go get it.

Sure some is the “pitching lab” but the props really need to be given to our defense. We have the most DRS from the 2B and RF position in the whole MLB.

  3. Look at some of the other stats as well.

    WHIP is 1.19 vs 1.44

Opponent OPS is down to .599 vs .771

    K/9 is up to 9 vs 7.52

    HR/9 is down to 0.86 from 1.35

    K:BB is 2.63 from 1.90

He needs to go deeper into games(yesterday was the first game he went more than 5), but he’s looking great.

  4. Not tipping your pitches for a month probably helps, but that shouldn’t take away from your statement. You won’t hear of a Brewers pitcher tipping for that long without someone saying something
