Mackey is just the worst
Declan’s correlation of run differential and team record in 1 run games is incorrect. Run differential effectively shifts a normal distribution of game run margins. The effect on record would be a small change in ALL run differentials. The change is so small for an individual difference (especially at the center of the distribution), you’d still expect ALL teams to have roughly .500 records in 1 run games. The Royals are right as expected if they are .500 in 1 run games, and not lagging as Declan claimed.
