  1. *Jansen steps in the box and takes strike one*

“Forget this, I’ll catch this AB instead”

  2. Not only will he appear in one game for both teams, he’s going to start an at bat as a batter and finish the at bat as a catcher. Unreal

  3. Sometimes you get a chance to stake your claim to a piece of history, and you take it.

  4. I thought there was a pitcher many years ago that was on the mound when a game was suspended. Then he got traded to the other team and ended up batting when the game was eventually resumed. He technically struck himself out, or am I just getting old and misremembering?!

  5. My dude had, and took the opportunity to become a trivia answer that will be remembered long into the future. Truly the GOAT

  6. He should call a mound visit before a pitch gets thrown. Let the fans really soak it in

  7. Alex Cora, man of the people, allowing this beautiful historic opportunity to play out

  8. Wait so is a backup catcher going to catch for the jays when he bats? Also is he going to try to only help the sox with his framing?

  9. if the count was 0-2 instead of 0-1 when the game was called and the eventual pinch hitter struck out danny jansen wouldve been credited with the strikeout meaning he couldve had a chance to catch his own strikeout

  10. This is the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me and it’s not even happening to me
