  1. ~~Positives from~~ today’s ~~Cleveland~~ baseball:

I’m at the bar. I’m a bit too annoyed at baseball at the moment for positives. Just enjoy the fact that 3 out of our 4 minor league teams will be making the playoffs. Have some random tidbits in my brain and from Twitter.

Did some looking today at our AAA and AA minor league starting pitchers. There are 17 listed pitchers, 12 are proper prospects, one of which is Espino (McKenzie, Allen, Cantillo, Tyler Beede, Zak Kent). Of the remaining 11, there is Parker Messick, Austin Peterson, and 9 pitchers who are R5 eligible at the end of the season. Fuck.

  2. Kwan, Ramirez and Naylor. 0-11. That simple.

I can’t wait to make zero changes to our lineup and roster tomorrow and expect a different result.

  3. The shift from this team as must see television to lifeless, boring nonsense should be studied.

  4. They gotta mix the lineup up. Maybe call up some guys, this team looks so fucking lost. Take kwans dumb ass out of the lead off spot.

  5. Still 18 over .500 but the division lead is all but evaporated at this point. We’ve got to shake off this malaise.

  6. The definition of insanity is running out the same garbage lineup and players every night and expecting different results

  7. Kwan Jose and Josh all need to sit a game. Maybe two. Its not like any of them are contributing anyway

  8. I mean it’s a simple formula at this point. Your 3 main hitters are doing fuck all right now, so you’re gonna lose.

I don’t know what the happened to Kwan, Jose is pressing a bit too much rn, and Josh is definitely not 100% right now. With that, Jhonk has to be playing more. He’s probably the best hitter rn outside of shit idk Rocchio or Brennan.

I know I’m throwing this request into the void, but for the love of all that is good and holy, get fucking Tyler Freeman the hell out of here. There are so many other options in Columbus that I have more faith in

I can’t get mad at Tanner because that was rotten luck on the Taveras hit and I can’t get mad at Cade because Cade has never done much to make me mad at him

I know Vogt is a first year manager, but someone’s gotta tell him that this peaks and valleys shit isn’t gonna work with KC and Minnesota breathing down our neck rn

  9. It’s not even the losing that is the killer, it’s the way it’s happening. So lifeless. Zero discipline. No magic.

Don’t know how it’s possible to fix the perennial batting issues at this point, but goddamn is this a pathetic display on a nightly basis by the top of the lineup.

  10. Kwan is broken. Charlie Manuel said “know thy self.” Looks like Kwan is trying to be a hitter that he is not

  11. I’d like to believe we’re not just mailing it in

….but *holy fuck* it’s so obvious the fixes this team needs to try. It was so obvious during the deadline too.

And we just keep pounding the same rocks.

I mean. Credit to Vogt I guess.

    He’s trying some new stuff.

Even if some of it is just plain baffling.

I’m gonna watch some fireworks and maybe have a drink and a smoke when I get home…

  12. This team is cooked. No way we advance past the wild card. Fuck Lane Thomas. Most of all, FUCK THE DOLANS AND THEIR FRONT OFFICE.

  13. Sucks we’re in 1st and no one believes anymore. That’s not a knock, I’m in that group too. I guess college football starts this weekend at least.

  14. I mean realistically what do we all expect? This team has horrendous “starting” pitching. Our offense is pedestrian most of the time. We overachieved massively. We’ve been a below .500 team since mid June. What’s really terrifying is, our SP is probably going to be pretty rough the next couple of years. McKenzie is not good. If we lose Bieber to FA, we’re going to have some makeshift ass rotation.

  15. I feel like Vogt might be a bit too much of a “player’s manager” atm, and that works great when things are going well but when shit is collapsing and no one is showing any urgency, you gotta be the guy that does it. Josh Naylor and Steven Kwan look lifeless, José is making decent contact and getting slightly unlucky, I’ll say, but still just not really doing enough.

I don’t think minor league moves do much of anything for this team, but at the very least Tyler Freeman needs to be on I-71 as we speak, with Valera or Arias or Martinez or God forbid Manzardo on the way up.

  16. Vogt needs to make like Billy Martin and just pull tomorrow’s lineup out of a hat

  17. I definitely recommend looking through the player’s splits by month. Across the board BABIP is down, the team is getting unlucky and shouldn’t be this bad. Sure, they also aren’t hitting the ball especially hard or well, but their BABIPs should still be around .290. Their process is a lot better than their results.

    For August (not including tonight):

    ||OPS|BABIP|
    |:-|:-|:-|
    |Kwan|.634|.215|
    |Josh|.723|.224|
    |Jose|.869|.233|
    |Gimi|.624|.310|
    |Fry|.662|.128|
    |Freeman|.251|.077|
    |Brennan|.728|.375|
    |Bo|.617|.250|
    |Rocchio|.701|.216|
    |Lane |.367|.200|

  18. Sucks this teams playing so bad we’re not loving Jose. I hate them for a lot, but I hate them for that most

  19. I’m not expecting a full synopsis detailing everything that’s going wrong and what they’re doing to fix it. But is it unreasonable to want some sort of acknowledgement of their hitting woes, and if they’re doing anything to improve?

Were going on 2 months of this, and as fans, it’s more than tiring to keep hearing the same old bullshit with the same results

  20. This team was always mediocre on paper and outperformed, especially in light of the SP woes. It’s catching up to us now.

  21. Kind of hints that baseball could be scripted. I mean you don’t f****** start so hot and then just be complete trash and s*** at the end unless it’s part of a script.

    Let’s start spreading conspiracy theories.
