Hilarious article coming from the Buffalo Sabres

  1. Primo offseason content from Buffalo. Such a weird thing to write, it essentially means nothing.

  2. That article was horrendous. The Sabres added 11 forwards to the Habs six forwards (who are the six forwards we added???), therefore they’re obviously better.

The reality is the Sabres let Jeff Skinner go, so they’re unlikely to ever score on is again.

  3. The writer is writing out of sheer ignorance. Hell, it doesn’t even seem like he knows his own team.

“Buffalo’s defense is as good or even better than the Canadiens..”

Are you stupid? Buffalo’s defense is outright better than ours! It’s your team’s strength and our weakness at the moment!

I also can’t help roll my eyes whenever I read or watch somebody make the point that “they haven’t really added anyone this year” as it completely ignores the context of how this rebuild is being approached.

It would be one thing if these content creators (refuse to call them journalists) were to *acknowledge* the direction this rebuild is taking and didn’t believe it was a good method of building a team. At least in that case it would show that they have done research and formed an opinion based on it. But they all just kind of ignore it completely.

  4. >The Montreal Canadiens recently acquired veteran forward Patrik Laine as part of a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defenseman Jordan Harris and a second-round pick.

The fact that almost a week later people still think we gave up the second rounder speaks to the absolute masterclass this was by Hughes 😂

  5. “The Habs hope Laine can help them overcome their playoff drought, which, while not as long as Buffalo’s, is still embarrassing for Le Grand Club’s supporters.”

I’m so embarrassed by our 3 year playoff drought. Getting to the cup final in 2021 was basically three generations ago. Such darkness.

  6. They get the details of the trade wrong and compare our playoff drought to theirs…. we were in the Cup finals 3 years ago, you clowns.

  7. Some weird things have been written about the Habs lately. Like that Suzuki wasn’t deserving of his contract (the worst contract on the team apparently) and his points were calories empty because they were from the PP. By a Leafs fan I think for the Daily Faceoff. Very serious thing

  8. > *’Looking at the Habs’ roster, the Canadiens added six new forwards to their lineup for 2024-25, but only one new defenseman, Adam Engstrom’*

    ?????????????????????

  9. You just gotta marvel and the stuff that’s been coming out lately by people/fans who very clearly don’t know the first thing about the habs, the management, the direction of the team or even the fans for that matter.

Whether it’s dumbass articles like this, or videos saying Caufield is our best player, you’ve gotta just enjoy the sheer stupidity of it all.

I can’t wait for the season to start. I’m not sold on us being a playoff team, but if they stay healthy I’m confident they can be “in the mix” later into the season.

Ps. Has bro watched the Sabres for the last 20 years? They’re the last team who should be commenting or judging anybody else. They got 11 new forwards (???) though, and we didn’t focus on D! Ahhh tabarnak were cooked.

  10. I forget now, can someone remind me how Buffalo manages to hold hands skipping down the pathway with Vancouver. Oh, now I remember:

The Sabres, along with the Canucks, are the oldest active NHL franchises to *have never won the Stanley Cup*.

  11. I have never read a more misinformed bunch of nonsense as this. Hysterical read. Habs need to add more D. OK

  12. What a dumbass. Doesn’t he understand we have a boatload of young Ds coming in. We just can’t stack the defense cuz there’ll be no place to integrate them. We have Lane, Logan and David getting added in the next two seasons, but sure, let’s block their path with mediocre adds.

  13. Considering their rebuild is 10 years on going, I’d say they should worry about themselves.
