  1. It may sound crazy but it’s Gerald to
    Me again.

“Wallace continued to improve in 2005–06, before getting injured in January, averaging 14.5 points and 7 rebounds, and ranking in the top 10 in the NBA in field goal percentage (54.142), blocks (2.19), and steals per game (2.44). Since the NBA began counting blocks as a statistic in 1973, only two other players (David Robinson and Hakeem Olajuwon) in league history have averaged over 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game in a single season.”

Only Mugsy has more steals all time than Gerald.

Only Alonzo, Emeka and Biz have more blocks than him.

Crash did this historical feat while playing small forward in the double big era but of basketball.

I know Zo and Emeka have seasons with slightly more blocks per game. But to me when you combine Gerald’s longevity with the team plus the fact that he was doing this while being a primary perimeter defender. I think he’s the answer.

  2. It might be seem a bit “meme team” but Dwight was a BEAST that year on the blocks

  3. Zo? Or because his tenure is too short? If you consider Dwight then Mourning should be up there.

  4. HAS to be Zo. We can put our personal feelings aside for this one. The man averaged 3.2 BPG in his three years as a Hornet, we’ve never had anyone else come close to that.

  5. Alonzo Mourning.

Rim defending doesn’t just mean shot blocking. A lot of Crash’s blocks came on the perimeter and in the mid-range. Zo was a legit rim protector and the best one we had.

  6. Thanks to these I just learned who Crash was. Never heard of him before this. Thank you and RIP Crash.
