Go Sens Go!
I want to see this team do well. However, I'm not that high on the depth and I don't see Ullmark being the massive difference maker others view him as. Also, I have 0 trust in Travis Green. 8th in the Atlantic with 79-84 points.
The most talked up team by their fans during almost every off-season.
I think we can contend for a playoff spot but we may ultimately fall short due to our lack of depth. We’re a couple of injuries way from a major crisis. We certainly have the talent to be in the conversation and pull it off but I’d feel way more comfortable putting them as a lock for the playoffs if they had bolstered depth for the bottom pair and the fourth line.
Great content as always Shannon, GSG!
I love that top 9 forward group. The balance on the backend is better, more team like. Hopfully league average goaltending and that top 9 bullrushing opposing defenses can bring them back.
They kind of learned their lessen from the last 2 Augusts of celebrating, gloating and talking shit to the entire league before you actually accomplish something. It has been much less this year.
Another year of mediocrity it is
A healthy Timmy Stu and Josh Norris, combined with even league average goaltending would make a huge difference. But I do worry about depth
It’s a promising year but we’ve said that the last 3. Just hoping they show legitimate improvement
Better team than the numbers! Just chasing it by the time they get it together! If EVERYONE SHOWS UP they could do some DAMAGE! I HATE EXCUSES ACCOUNTABILITY IS WHERE ITS AT
I'm gonna cry if Ullmark turns into another Debrincat-type situation.
just glad DJ Smith is gone
The Senators had better defensive numbers than the Bruins last season according to moneypuck
They had a better xGA/60, but just had league worst goaltending.
This franchise is going no where apart from Arizona as long as Staios is the GM.
1. Why take so long to fire DJ Smith when his systems are evidently outdated and fans have been given lots of constructive criticism against his coaching? Whether the players respect him or not, this is a fkng business. You cant expect someone to be your best friend and get the best out of you at the same time.
2. There is no excuse for losing a top 6 forward to 2 players that probs never play in the NHL. Florida wouldn't have issues giving up a 1st consideirng it was gonna be late anyways, especially now that they won the cup.
3. TRAVIS GREEN WAS YOUR BEST OPTION???????? YOU ARE MENTAL.
4. Fleeced for Chychrun because of "nO lEvErAgE". Jensen is a bot.
5. The Shane Pinto holdout again. Some things never change. There were rumours of him requestingv trades and I wouldn't be shocked if it was really true. That's blatant disrespect to someone who has been rapidly improving.
I’m saying nothing. Every year I’m full of optimism and then want to throw myself off a skyscraper by November 30th.
Leafs suck.
If they stay pretty healthy and the team is disciplined the entire season they aren't missing the playoffs, no doubt about it. I choose to be the 12%!
Shannon just dropped a video about a team that I don't care about. What do I do? Drop everything and watch every minute. Thanks for everything you do, THG.
I’d be more confident in the Sens making the playoffs if they made a better coaching hire.
The Senators need to make the playoffs this year, or Brady Tkachuk will likely want out. You shouldn't mistake someones kindness for complacency.
Sens were 18-3-1 before January last season when we had 900 plus save percentage goaltending and Korpi was in the 880 to 900 range last season which was brutal. Ullmark will stabilize that a lot better and i think we are going to be a sleeper pick this year. My best hope since 2017 for sure.
In the upcoming 2024-25 NHL season, the Ottawa Senators will finish last in the Atlantic Division with a record of 18 wins, 54 losses, and 10 overtime losses. On April 13, 2026, a Hartford-based group headed by billionaire hedge fund managers Ray Dalio and Todd Boehly will purchase the Senators from Michael Andlauer and the late Eugene Melnyk’s daughter Anna and Olivia Melnyk for $1.75 billion, including a relocation fee of $195 million to relocate the Senators to Hartford and on April 16, 2026, the NHL Board of Governors will approve both the sale and relocation of the Senators to Hartford in a unanimous vote, so after calling Ottawa home for 34 years, the Senators will relocate to Hartford to become the Hartford Whalers and play at the XL Center in the 2026-27 NHL season.
mike hoffaman if ufa .im not sure why that amused me,but it did.greatly .
There are a lot of teams in the East in the playoff bubble, hoping to limp into the final season, but a few perennial playoff teams are continuing to decline. Having Ullmark in net means not expecting to fish the puck out of your net every time the other team has the puck and that's important to a team's confidence. Getting more dependable goaltending is what has really kept this team from not taking the next step for years now and they should be competing for a wildcard spot, but the timing of so many teams improving to also grab a wildcard spot and so many better teams not going anywhere will make it tough.
Great video
Love the series
Yep, playoffs this year. They're making a big push. Everything has been done correctly this off season
The Sens don’t suck they are in a tough division that only got tougher, i dont see them being much better than Detroit, Buffalo or even Montreal all 4 of these teams are waiting on youngsters to take huge steps that might never come.
The only big difference maker is goaltending, Ullmark could be enough of a factor to clear away from the bottom, but to get over Boston, Toronto, Tampa or Florida ?
If the Metro is as strong as before you can forget about a 5th place qualifying.
I’m ready to be hurt again
When he said "Kyle Turris" i relaized im old as heck now…
I've always liked Nick Jensen. He helps balance out the D-corps ans might surprise a few people.
Otherwise I felt Woodcroft would've been a better fit for this team.
Hat and jersey is on point 🙌👍👌
They have to make Playoffs or at least fight for it until the last game of the season… anything else is unacceptable… I know Atlantic is ridiculously packed… but, it doesn’t matter anymore, Buffalo, Detroit and Ottawa have to… they run out of excuses… can see 5 teams from Atlantic making PO…
Brady will look baller in a Habs jersey…Just saying😉
As if things weren't hard enough on the sens, they are in possibly the toughest division in the league. I can't see how they'd finish above toronto, boston, florida or tampa, detroit could be a playoff team too, and buffalo and Montreal both seem to have brighter futures ahead of them
Oh ya that pk was brutal. One of the most frustrating seasons I’ve ever experienced since being a sens fan
Strong young-to-prime Center group, up-and-coming balanced blueline, former Vezina winner in his prime in net, star winger in Tkschuk, new owner and GM providing needed leadership for a year.
This smells like a playoff team, one that will pop in a big way like the Devils did 2 seasons ago.
Ignore the recenct seasons.
Only thing that makes me hesitate is that it's hard to find a team in the division that made the playoffs that looks ready to drop out and I don't think Travis Green is much of a coach.
I think they sneak into a Wildcard spot and easily finish ahead of Detroit, Buffalo, and Montreal.
Don’t think there’s going to be much improvement this season
I believe that they can make it this year but it all up to the players if we do or don't go sens go ps I love your videos keep up the good work
How can you NOT be cautious about your hope for this team. Still a fan but I think it will still take a few years for new ownership to take away the trauma of past ownership and GM.
Don't sleep on Stephen Halliday this season. He's my dark horse out of camp.
are the sens gonna play the goon card again this year or did they realise that it just doesn't work for them?
