Locked On Braves POSTCAST: Another injury scare headlines Atlanta Braves’ 5-1 loss to Washington

It did not take long for the Atlanta Braves to experience an all-too-familiar feeling. Michael Harris II was forced out Sunday’s 5-1 loss to the Washington Nationals, though the Braves believe they may have dodged yet another injury bullet.

Grant McAuley and Jake Mastroianni of Locked On Braves discuss Harris’ condition, a solid pitching performance that went unrewarded for Reynaldo Lopez, another quiet day for the offense, and rare mistep from the bullpen as the Nationals avoided a sweep in the series finale. All of that and a preview of a major road trip ahead for Atlanta in this edition of the show.

  1. The news about Harris sounds like he and Braves may have avoided serious injury . So is the news about Ozuna. Finally, we may have avoided the death knell.
Great pitching today but offense did not show up for play. 2 hits and 1 run; not going to win with that feeble response! Sad and even worse is that nobody has a clue how to fix this broken offense !

  2. Are there any considerations you DFA Luke Jackson??? I don’t trust him. Period!! Returning him to team was, IMO, a huge mistake. And now we are struggling with his presence.
However, the heart of this issue is lack of offense, plain and simple!!!

  3. FIRE 🔥 SNITKER !!
Brian Snitker brought in right hander Luke Jackson to follow Renaldo Lopez (Another Righty), with the 1st 3 hitters due up being left handed and the 1st 7 of 8 batters left handed! This is analytically INSANE! No other manager past, present or in MLB history makes as many stupid pitching decisions as Brian Snitker!
    FIRE 🔥 SNITKER !!

  4. The fire Snitker post are ridiculous. The Luke Johnson complaints are valid. I would also say that at this point Murphy looks as lost as a tee baller. He should be the permanent backup this year, he is swinging at pitches outside off the plate and not able to pull the trigger on pitches center to inside of the plate. Good thing Arcia can field because his swing is awful. I don't understand how he hits anything unless it is an inside pitch because of his stepping in the bucket. Hard to watch.

  5. The fact that we're even still having this conversation about Luke Jackson is unreal. Why is he still on this team while Daysbel Hernandez is wasting away in AAA?

  6. Im sure Luke Jackson is a great guy. Ask him to retire and make him a bullpen coach. I CELEBRATED when he got traded. He's cost us so many games in th past, and this is like the 3rd since he came back where he either got blown up in a close or tied game or got blown up and lost a lead. Meanwhile its not like he's going out and putting up 10 lockdown appearances in between bad ones. It's just bad ones and REALLY bad ones.

  7. I think Braves fans should chill, they’re playing well recently from what I can see besides offensive woes, and climbing back into contention. Hope they avoid the injuries. Only 6 back. It’s going to be a fun September, let’s go phils.
