Been looking at Bryan Woo this season a lot, he has dramatically improved his results as a pitcher in a very unconventional way in the modern era. Woo has dropped his whiff rate from 28.1% in 87.2 innings last year to 19.9% in 87.2 innings this year (innings count is pure coincidence), but has also dramatically cut down his walks, hits, and home runs allowed (BB/9 from 3.2>0.9, H/9 from 7.7>6.4, HR/9 from 1.3>0.6, K/9 from 9.5>7.0). This has also resulted in a change in ERA as well, from 4.21>2.05 (95>184 ERA+).
Do any of your teams pitchers have any recent examples of guys saying no to strikeouts and whiffs to great success for a starting pitcher?
That LLWS ending: Who’s that even on? The pitcher? The first baseman?
MLB (.com) power rankings are a meaningless clickbait article and the writers are worse than the daily mail.
