ESPN Sources: Cowboys and All-Pro WR CeeDee Lamb reached agreement today on a record four-year, $136 million deal that now makes him the second highest-paid non-QB in NFL history. The deal includes a $38 million signing bonus, the largest ever given to a wide receiver.

  1. Bro what are we doing, now ayuik asking price has gone up. Edit: this comment should not be getting downvoted 😭😂

  2. Signed before Aiyuk even tho Jerry said something like I’m not worried about signing him or something. this org man💀

  3. I don’t think there’s any way you can defend how the Niners handled the Aiyuk situation at this point.

  4. Great….

Meanwhile, no updates on both Trent and Aiyuk’s contracts. Wish they’d get those contracts settled..

  5. I don’t think not much has changed price wise. The asking price was closer to Amon’s contract, think $30 mil is the sweet spot. That being said, they can’t let this stretch out to week 1 practice, we’ve had all offseason/training camp to figure this out. Find a resolution.

  6. this teams’ FO is so bad at contracts. price of the brick just went up. wonder how much money they’ve lost on their Leeds project

  7. How long until the NFL scraps the salary cap as we know it and just goes MLB-style

I know they won’t because they don’t want an A’s situation but still

  8. Shouldn’t really impact things cause CD is a tier above, but I’m sure that guaranteed money will make Aiyuk feel a certain way.

At what point do they just table talks and focus on Trent? Probably starting today, right? Trent should be the priority now that pre-season is over.

  9. Just keep waiting, I’m sure we’ll get a more beneficial deal done.

This team needs to learn to negotiate with their players in good faith and get deals done sooner rather than later.

Every. Single. Deal. Gets done late.

  10. Remember when we could have drafted CD and instead we picked Javon Kinlaw……..

  11. Putting things in perspective, Lamb had 135 receptions to Aiyuk’s 75 because Dallas doesn’t have a Deebo, Kittle, McCaffrey or Jennings

  12. Aiyuk is the 5th most important player on the Niners offense. I don’t think this effects him as much as some think.

  13. The thing that pisses me off is that (and I’m a huge BA fan) is BA isn’t as good as some of these other dudes….

  14. The problem for BA is that he’s a part of a pro bowl offensive unit. Kittle, Juice, Deebo, CMC… all offensive juggernauts at their position. BA is not the sole option or top option on every play or game. The other wide out he’s trying to get paid like are the Alphas. Justin Jefferson, Ceedee, Aj brown, St Brown, Devonte Adam’s… all of them are clear cut top dogs and best offers weapon. BA needs to humble himself and care less about the annual and more about the guaranteed.

  15. Why are so many people acting like this has anything to do with the 49ers situation? This is irrelevant.

  16. Leave it to the Cowboys to do stupid Cowboys things. I hope this contract puts a handcuff on their salary cap for the next 4 years.

  17. If you’re lurking, BA. It ain’t happening, bud. Take the Niners offer and get back to work. 😄😜

  18. If Aiyuk thinks he can get CD money then he’s delusional. He’s top 10, not top 5 WR. Just trade him if he’s gonna hold out for CD or Chase money

  19. yeah if they start asking for more again, forget it. not worth it.

btw, maybe this will change how the 49ers negotiate in the future. It’s absolutely not worth it to string out negotiations so late in the period that by the time the players show up, theyre so out of shape for the season and not worth a damn. not only that, but you just end up having to raise your offers cause every new contract that gets signed these days have to be market resetters. Welcome to capitalism

  20. I like BA, but at this point I’d call his bluff and let him continue to sit out. He’s good but not worth what he’s asking for. The evidence of this is that we let him negotiate with other teams and he declined their offers. That tells me that he wants to stay with the 49ers but he wants to dictate terms to the team and that’s just not realistic.

If the money is what he’s after, the. He needs to go sign with the Commanders or Patriots and enjoy never sniffing the playoffs again.

This isn’t hard to figure out.

  21. This changes nothing. I think Aiyuk deserves to get paid and look out for himself. On the flip side the Niners need to balance out making the most of a win now roster while being able to maintain a competitive roster in subsequent years. As much as the fans want to see it, I don’t think the 49ers are ever going to be an explosive pass dominant offense. We can’t have two high paid receivers for more than 1 year. Our QB is very good but he doesn’t have the arm of guys like Mahomes, Herbert, Allen, etc.

I’m beginning to think the only way a Shanahan team is going to get to the finish line is by being able to run at will on teams. That limits the impact of good defensive gameplans by opponents. Think of a Derrick Henry like rushing attack but with some well designed pass plays as a supplement along with a solid defense. I know Shanahan doesn’t do power running but he should consider adding it along with his existing scheme. When you are outgunned by the rival QB and your typical schemes don’t result in big points in the playoffs, you need to change things.

  22. That’s free of state tax, by the way. Aiyuk will miss week one, then report and play on his 5th year option. Won’t actually contribute meaningfully to a game until week 3 at the earliest. That’s my prediction.
