[Wilson] #Bears waive offensive lineman Ja’Tyre Carter, per a league source, interest expected from other #NFL teams on waivers @KPRC2

He’d had a couple of cryptic tweets in the past week (one since deleted, I believe), wonder if he’s known this was coming for a while now.
7th rounder who just never panned out for us. Best of luck wherever he’s going but I’m not upset to see us starting to trim the dead weight on our O-line.
I thought he was one of the more serviceable back up guards on the team, guess not
Kinda surprised but also kinda not? The coaching staff seemed to be really pushing to make him work – guess he must’ve run out of runway.
It looks like Bill Murray impressed more than Carter for the depth pieces. We are getting to the point in time final cuts are coming since have to be down to 53+16 Thursday from the 90ish left.
It’s nice to get to a point with this roster where other teams are waiting for our roster cuts to try and improve their own rosters rather than the other way around

Not surprising at all. Carter has predominantly (exclusively?) been a backup at guard.
Poles talked specifically about positional flexibility with offensive linemen and w/o being a good option at tackle or having the ability to play center hurt Carter.
Amegadjie will make the roster and can supposedly play G in addition to T. Pryor can also play both G and T. With Bates hurt we are likely to see Murray make the roster since he can play all 3 iOL spots.
