  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

~~Starting pitcher blurb… uh… hm. Joey probably said hi to each of the guys as the left the bullpen… probably talk more about him tonight.~~ hang in I wrote this end 7 why is Joey in the game????

Bullpen was the full unit today, with a 🏝️ opener with 1IP, 0H, 0R, 2BB, and 2K for a scoreless first. Eli Morgan followed him up (with a 1.93 ERA entering today), and went 2+IP, 2H, 2ER(fuckin Freeman), 0BB, and 1K (if you can’t tell I don’t entirely blame Eli for the runs). Barlow went 2IP, 1H scoreless, and Gillispie followed him with 2IP, 1H, 2K scoreless.

I guess a second “bullpen” blurb? Gaddis(0.1IP, 1R) has a bad day and gives way to Joey Cantillo who goes 1.2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, and 1K. Good job Joey.

Offense didn’t set any LOB records, so I’ll just be happy they made the starter work so much in that regard. The bats get 3 runs off of 7 hits, 5 walks, and another 🆓 HBP. 🐽(Hedges) is making an appearance in the offensive positives with a 2 hit day, while 🐐 got a double.

You gave me a doubleheader on the day the minor leagues have off. Bruh. I’ll put the minor league standings and playoff stuff in game 2(since I’m typing this up in class and should probably focus on trust rather than pulling up minor league stats).

  2. If we win tonight, it’s like nothing happened guys. It’s alright. Let’s get the next one.

  3. We need a retractable roof purely because we won’t need to play anymore fucking doubleheaders.

  4. Thomas in the 2 spot is starting to become managing malpractice. I can understanding having him in the lineup somewhere still, though its frustrating either way. But hes killing us in front of Jose.

  5. Freeman almost singly handedly lost us this game, along with more Lame Thomas dissapoiment. Something has to change to get our offense going

  6. 3rd 1 run loss to the Royals. Season series almost surely lost. And burnt everyone in the bullpen on a doubleheader after failing to seize on countless opportunities.

When it comes to our odds of getting to October in good shape, quite likely, this is the worst game of the season so far.

Lets hope we can make some luck in the 2nd half of the doubleheader.

  7. I don’t think this team knows that when you make a singular mistake, the game is not over.

It genuinely felt like the body language changed both after the Witt bomb, then again after Lane couldn’t corral that catch. Like, guys…keep playing ffs.

  8. Guardians baseball has not been fun in so long. Like yes we’ve won here and there but the experience has legit given me so much anxiety watching so many scoring attempts get left on the field. I would like it to be fun again please before October. If we even make it there. 😭

  9. Another frustrating loss. For sure.

But I wanted at least a split today.

    So I’m not mad…. yet

  10. KC had some unbelievable defensive plays today. And their best player did what he does. I still feel like that early mishap was more on Vogt than Eli. He pitched well and Vogt tried to steal an extra inning out of him. I totally get it, but that dropped ball in the triangle was a bad omen and he shoulda been taken out then. No excuse after the second man reached. Good thing is they’ve got an even quicker turnaround than normal to get revenge.

  11. I’ll call it a win if Allen can get through 4 under 100 pitches tonight. Godspeed to us.

The Freeman shortstop experiment offers zero upside and should’ve never been a thing.

  12. Please send Freeman down and don’t play Lane

Also we can’t keep losing to KC, we’re better than them and we have to show that

  13. Some bad luck (good defense by KC) cost us a couple runs. Offense overall was pretty anemic but not sure why everyone keeps saying our bullpen is spent? Following guys did not pitch early game: Herrin, Smith, Clase, Avila. You also only had Cantillo throw 1.2 innings and seeing as he’s a “starter” I can easily see him being able to go again tonight. If you can get 5 out of Logan Allen, then you’re in good shape. Hopefully offense can wake up and score early for them.

  14. It is time to start asking:

    A) Whether or not we’ll even make the postseason

    B) How this collapse will impact the psyche of the club next season.

But instead the people here will keep pretending that we’re going to get back on track tonight with LOGAN FUCKING ALLEN and call me an idiot for asking. It’s okay. We can revist in six weeks time.
