  1. Him saying he's not afraid of the AHL absolutely speaks volumes about his character and how he wants to earn everything even though he's a top 3 NHL affiliated prospect.

  2. I do remember Hughes saying in his press conference after the Laine trade that he’s confident that we should be under the cap before the start of the season.. so another trade is coming.. Armia would be easier to move but Dvorak would be the ideal one for sure

  3. Saying that Dvorak isn't untradeable is quite an understatement. And don't forget that he only makes one million less than Anderson, so trading him won't be easy.

  4. Imagine if laine stays long term
    In 3-4 years youd have

    Demidov Suzuki Laine
    Slafkovsky Dach Caufield
    Newhook Hage Roy
    ?? (Mesar?) Beck RHP

    Hutson Reinbacher
    Guhle Mailloux
    Xhekaj Barron

    Montembeault Fowler

  5. This might sound crazy, but if newhook isnt on the second line. Might want to try for a few games is Anderson. Just tonsee if we can get him started. He has the speed and size, and ask him to just crash the net.

  6. Laine/Demidov/Slafkovsky might surpass Caufield/Suzuki for that top line 👀 I'm sure Dach would mind playing with them again 🤷🏻‍♂️
    Then we've got Newhook/Beck/Roy as a solid 3rd line 👀
Probably still have Anderson/Evans/Gallagher next year too, not a horrible 4th line if some prospects like S. Farrell/F. Mesar/F. Xhekaj don't make the cut

  7. I don't see how newhook plays on that 2nd line unless they get a really solid 3rd line shutdown….If you look at the Habs championship teams they always had a shutdown line as a 3rd line. They really need to build a 3rd line that just shuts down the other team.. As the team is configured now I see Newhook needing to be on line 3 for away games and when good teams try to take advantage of our 3rd and 4th line… Beck might be the answer of the future (or sooner) but for now we have options to play with dach and Laine… I don't really see us having an option for 3rd line Center… I'd put Newhook and Armia on 3rd line guaranteed to shutdown the other teams and play solid in all zones. IF the Habs can get 4 lines going all solid and making an impact we have a chance at a playoff spot because I think our top 5, defense and goalies is that good.

  8. Guys, what’s this about Newhook in the wing. He is great at face offs and was excellent when he returned from his injuries, plus Roy / Newhook / Armia was a solid line and that’s our third line all ready to go. We just need to find that second line winger.

Armia would look good with Laine and Dach, and put Gally on the third line.

  9. Little talk of Jake Evan’s being moved at TDL but he also needs to go.

Most fans give his play a pass but he provides zero physicality while providing next to no offense. He’s NOT Danault 2.0

Hope Beck starts in the AHL and gets called up after TDL to occupy those Evan’s minutes

  10. i would trade dvorak so beck takes his spot soon would put andy on second to get his value up cause every team dont want him armia stays jake evans also stay but his gotta go if hage is ready and matheson will be traded to a cup contender team for a pick savard will stay till reinbacher is ready oh and gally hmmm his time might be up i think they gotta do smt when his overpayed contract is done…

  11. Josh looks and sounds so drunk at the half speed I needed to watch it at to see Demidovs 1st goal in this video. For lines I'd do: Newhook to 3rd C, Roy to 2nd LW, Dvo to 4th C, Evans to 4th LW, Armia to 3rd LW. Then, switch Anderson & Gally depending on how they do.

  12. This is the line I would put together. Laine Dach Armira. Armira is big ,has the skills, soft hands and protects the puck well. Also playing with another Finn might motivate him even more. He played really well in the second half of last year. Also it might boost his trade value for us.
