Sure, the team and fan base have had huge expectations for this guy and rightfully so, but it hasn’t panned out quite the way we all wanted. I think that’s in part from being buried deep in the lineup and not getting consistent play. I think he’s right to want to leave but doesn’t deserve the borderline hate he’s starting to get from fans lol I want to see him get a bigger and prolonged role in the top 9 and hopefully he’ll find his rhythm! The kid has talent and plays hard for a smaller fella! Go buds!

Leaf fans are gonna get what they want and then cry about it, just like you all did with Nazem Kadri (of course every one of you lies about being against it at the time). Kadri, incidentally, became an NHL regular at 23. Robertson turns 23 in two weeks.
I want us to keep him and try him out with the new coach but if he’s going to be like that… oh well.
We’re gunna wish he stayed but if he wants to leave then I’m not gunna lose sleep over it. This isn’t about playing time with him it’s about making money. As long as the core 4 are here he will at best be the 5th offensive option and now Knies and Domi have even separated themselves from Robertson.

I’m totally willing to welcome him back with open arms, I think this is going to be a big year for him and I hope we’re the team that reaps the benefits, but if he absolutely won’t sign then yeah, “oh no, anyway”. Trade him if the right trade is there but he’s not the calibre of player who can justify a holdout, if he won’t sign and there’s nothing on the market that makes the team better, he can sit for as long as he needs or go play in Europe until he’s ready to put pen to paper.
I don’t get why this guy wants to leave. The Leafs have a brand new coach and the LW depth chart is Knies, McMann, Robertson, Dewar. If he’s honestly looking at that lineup and thinking “I have no chance to unseat Knies or McMann” then he doesn’t have much faith in himself.
The kid can score. If he was more patient he might have got a great opportunity this season. Leafs need forward scoring depth.
