The Kansas City Chiefs’ 53-man roster is set after Andy Reid and Brett Veach made their initial Chiefs roster cuts today. It’s no surprise that players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and Trent McDuffie made the roster. The NFL cut deadline was Tuesday, August 27th at 4pm ET. The Chiefs had plenty of roster cuts to make and although many of the cuts today will end up on the Chiefs practice squad, it is difficult trimming the roster down to 53 players.
Kansas City Chiefs roster cuts included a few surprise moves. Some of the more notable Chiefs roster bubble candidates who did not make the cut include: Kadarius Toney, Justyn Ross, Irv Smith, Louis Rees-Zammit, Deneric Prince, Ian Book, Kelvin Joseph, Miles Battle, Ekow Boye-Doe, Phillip Brooks, Owen Carney, Alex Gubner, Griffin McDowell, Randen Plattner, Kyle Sheets, Geor’quarius Spivey, Nick Torres and more.

I do think it's a Superbowl caliber roster. Most teams have a down year after a Superbowl. During the regular season, the Chiefs did. Now for the dietary time in the Mahomes era, they have a full spectrum of receiver types. They have an RB room that may very well be the best RB room they've had under Mahomes since Hunt was released mid-season. Defense may not be as good, but it may not need to be. Then you gotta consider Mahomes lost in the AFC championship and responded with one of the best seasons by a QB that we've ever seen. Had an of year last year but still found a way to win a Superbowl. The Chiefs have a better team, and i promise you Mahomes will not be satisfied with last season even after winning a Superbowl. I could be wrong, but this year, this year is going to be like something we've never seen.
