5. If this is over Brett Rypien, it’s interesting. I assume this is to keep a healthy eco-system of friendly faces around Caleb to increase his comfort level as they spent the entire summer together training.

   What will really be telling is if the Bears sign John Jackson III to the practice squad as that would be more Caleb based than merit based.

18. Only saw limited reps from Reed, but what I saw didn’t look like a QB that makes a 53 man roster.

19. Reed has been solid and seems like a fun dude. Would love to see him develop into a solid backup.

20. Likeable kid, glad he gets a practice squad salary for at least a year, and we’ve certainly had worse quarterbacks in our system.

    But while I’d be curious to see a few fill in starts by Bagent if Caleb goes down, I hope I never see a non preseason game with Reed in it.
