  1. Notes From the Game:

+ Chris Sale didn't have the Best of Starts, but he was TERRIFIC working around traffic Tonight! 6 Innings of 1-Run, 6-Hit Ball, Walking 1 and Striking Out 6 en route to his LEAGUE-LEADING 15TH WIN OF THE SEASON! Sale improves to 15-3 with an ERA of 2.58! Cy Young Stars do their best even when it doesn't always work out, and Sale CERTAINLY DID THAT TONIGHT!

+ WHAT DID I SAY, BULLPEN? THROW THE FASTBALL, RIGHT?! YOU LISTENED, AND LOOK AT THE RESULTS! Jackson, Jimenez, and Iglesias, Throwing Fastballs AGGRESSIVELY, SILENCED Minnesota the Rest of the Way, Allowing Just 1 Hit and 2 Walks while Striking Out 5! No Save Situation for Iglesias, but he got 3 Outs while Allowing 1 Hit!

ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 1 Run, 7 Hits, 3 Walks, 11 Strike Outs, NO Home Runs Allowed!

3-9 With Runners in Scoring Position, 5 Men Left On Base… a Solo Homer to Start the Scoring, and a Big Inning to put the Game Away. A TEXTBOOK BRAVES PERFORMANCE FROM THE OFFENSE!

+ SOLER POWER SCORCHES THE TWIN CITIES! 1-3 with a SOLO SUPER MISSILE INTOTHEBULLPEN! Soler Stands in with a .236 Average, .768 OPS, and 17 Home Runs on the Season!

+ MATTY-O GETTING THE BIG HIT TONIGHT! 1-4 with the GAME-DECISIVE RBI DOUBLE IN THE 7TH! Olson stands firm with a .231 Average with an OPS of .747!

+ LAUREANO KEEPS ON HITTING! 2-4 with Two Singles and an RBI! Laureano steps up to a .249 Average with an OPS of .731!

+ WHAT A NIGHT FROM LUKE WILLIAMS! 2-4 with TWO DOUBLES, ONE OF WHICH DROVE IN TWO KEY INSURANCE RUNS IN THE 7TH! Williams Jumps Up to a .190 Average with a .547 OPS!

+ OTHER NOTABLES: Orlando Arcia and Marcell Ozuna each Notched 1 Hit Tonight. Ozuna also was the ONLY Brave to earn a Walk. Sean Murphy, Despite going 0-3, did reach on a Fielders Choice That would've been an RBI had Minnesota NOT RUSHED to the Replay Phone like a Robbery had happened. The ONLY Brave to not reach base was… Michael Harris II? He went 0-4 and Struck Out Thrice…. Yikes.

+ SWEEP SUCCESSFUL! STATEMENT MADE! Minnesota, Your Tenacity through this Series is one I cannot ignore. Despite losing Three Games Straight to us, YOU KEPT IT INTERESTING THROUGHOUT! You've got respectable Arms out of the Starting Rotation, and your offense can get things snowballing. Your Bullpen and Health is your current vulnerability. I still believe there is a Team that can Compete here, but you've got work to do if you want another shot at the Postseason, so get to it.

+ More Good News: PHILADELPHIA GOT NO-HIT FOR SEVEN INNINGS AND SHUTOUT BY THE ASTROS! In addition, THE METS METTED IN ARIZONA THANKS TO CORBIN CARROLL AND EDLOSE DIAZ! This Puts the Braves within 5 Games of Philly, and Increases their Lead for the FINAL WILD CARD SLOT to 4 Games!

    WHAT'S NEXT?

After Being HUMILIATED by the Braves in their own Ballpark, the Twins must mend their wounds in time for the Toronto Blue Jays to Fly in.

Former Brave Kevin Gausman will get the call for Toronto, who's having a GREAT August so far, going 3-1 with an ERA of 2.84, which included a 1-Run, 2-Hit Outing against the Angels on Sunday, going 7 Innings Strong and earning the WIN!

Meanwhile, Former Marlin Pablo Lopez will step up to the rubber for Minnesota, Who has respectable numbers for August: 2-1 with an ERA of 2.25. His Last Start against the Cardinals was SUPERB: 7 SHUTDOWN Frames, Allowing 4 Hits and 1 Walk, Striking Out 9 in the Process, Earning a WIN of his own!

Can Lopez and the Twins get back on the Winning Track?

Or Will Gausman and the Blue Jays continue the Skid for the Twins?

We Will Find Out at 8:10 P.M. EDT / 7:10 P.M. CDT on Rogers SportsNET (Blue Jays) and Bally Sports North (Twins)!

    CITIZEN'S BANK PARK….

FOR THE LAST TWO SEASONS, THIS GOD-FORSAKEN LOCATION HAS BEEN OUR GRAVEYARD.

HOWEVER… EARLIER THIS SEASON, WE TOOK A SERIES FROM THEM HERE.

NOW… THE STAKES ARE MUCH HIGHER:

A FIVE GAME DEFICIT…. FOUR GAMES TO BE PLAYED… A SERIES WIN OR SWEEP MAKES THINGS IN THE NL EAST VERY INTERESTING…

THIS IS OUR SHOT…. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO MISS!

It's the Philadelphia Phillies… AND YOUR ATLANTA BRAVES!

ROUND 1 OF 4 Between these Divisional Rivals will take place under the Evening Skies of Citizen's Bank Park.

Christopher Sanchez will take the rubber for the Phillies, Who's Been Struggling the Last Two Months, but continues to be VIGILANT. His Last Start was a RESPECTABLE ONE against the Braves a Week Ago: 6 Innings, 3 Runs, 9 Hits, 1 Walk, 8 Strike Outs.

Meanwhile, Charlie Morton will take up Battle Stations for the Braves, Who's Starting to find a Groove in his Last Three Starts, Including a Respectable outing of his own against the Nationals, Going 5 2/3 Innings and allowing 2 Runs on 8 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out 6 in a No-Decision.

Can Morton and the Braves Open this Series with a CRUCIAL WIN IN HOSTILE TERRITORY?

Or will Sanchez and the Phillies be the ones to land the Opening Punch?

We Will Find Out at 6:40 P.M. EDT on NBC Sports Philadelphia (Phillies), Bally Sports Southeast (Braves) and MLB Network (Out-Of-Market ONLY)!

    SoundFX09, Signing Out!

  2. Always the last team to get their highlights posted – anyone noticed that. MLB doesn't care about the Braves, I guess 'cause the BRAVES didn't change their name.

  3. Great win for the Bravos, Chris Sale was a little shakey tonight but otherwise still good enough to hold the Twins to one earn run, Jorge Soler shined tonight with a super missile and a fantastic throw 'em out at the plate strike from right field, not bad for a guy who's defensive abilities have been under scrutiny, the replacement guys continue to contribute well tonight in Laureano and Luke Williams, now if we can only carry this head of steam into Philadelphia for the next 4 games, if we can take at least 3 out of 4 that'll be great, GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!

  4. 🧹🧹🧹 Another gem by Chris Same, Luke Williams looking spectacular at the hot corner as well as in the batter’s box. 4:00 Olson had a legitimate gripe with this pitch.

  5. Luuuuuuuuuuuuuke Willy was a huge factor in this game. Love to see it when a guy who does the gritty work and what's best for the club. Hella snag out there at the hot corner at 3rd, learned a lil sum from AR out there it seems. The time is now. Lets go get them Philthadelphia Pwussys for atleast a gentlemens sweep or even better to break the brooms out
