Pretty much what I expected to read. Incrementally better than last year , playoffs are within reach this year if things go right. LGB
I am someone who just watches hockey, pays attention to the rules and some of the fine gameplay. I don’t really track player stats, especially not for other teams.
That being said, I am glad Krug is potentially out. I just feel like from what I observed, he was really weak. God I don’t remember the game, but it was just misplay after misplay by him.
Anyone more into hockey wanna give me a rundown on these new players? Any good?
I don’t see Suter getting top pairing. Too slow. In fact, I see Suter as the extra scratch most nights.
Broburg will be alongside Parayko, and Perunovich alongside Faulk.
Broberg Parayko makes all the sense in the world. But that’s not what the blues will do. They have a love affair with Leddy and Parayko together no matter what the numbers say. More than likely based off how the Blues operate, there’s a very strong chance the pairings are the following:
Leddy-Parayko
Broberg-Faulk
Perunovich-Kessel
Suter
I’ve said this multiple times and too many on here want to ignore it due to their own bias: Suter contract is set up to be exactly a 7th guy. Hence the league minimum salary with games played incentives added in. Peru is making more money than Kessel, Tucker, and POJ. He’s got a lot more upside than all 3 offensively and being able to play in more situations and is a much better puck handler and skater. They just resigned him as an RFA, the likely-hood of him getting waived is very slim. Now maybe they look to trade him, but don’t count on that. The blues ALWAYS play the guys making more money. Peru is very likely making the starting back end
Suter is not starting top pair and I’m not convinced he’s going to be in the lineup most days
If a 39 yr old dman is logging significant minutes, this team has no chance.
Suter CANNOT play top 4 defense minutes. He will not last or be any good.
The defensive pairings are all wrong.
It will be : Parayko -Leddy Faulk- Broberg Suter- Kessel.
Also, I really hope they don’t put Buch at center.
I’m surprised most sites never list Bolduc. Dude has learned just about everything he can in the minors. He’s going to be on one of the middle lines. I also agree, Leddy and Parayko will start off the season.
