Pro baseball would never tolerate an owner like Mark Cuban. It is the shittiest cabal in pro sports which is really saying something!
It’s actually worse than that…because nutting doesn’t “stand in market square.” So sure, the entire city yells at him, but they do it at restaurants he doesn’t eat in, stores he doesn’t shop in, clubs he doesn’t belong to, radio he doesn’t listen to, message boards he doesn’t read, and baseball games he doesn’t attend.
So he just goes about his life (I believe in Aspen, IIRC) while people he will rarely if ever actually encounter, bitch about him for something that he is PROUD of and not in any way ashamed of.
I’d rather take over a billion in profit and fuck off

As long as I had a bullet proof box to stand in I would take the job. I could intentionally wreck the team and laugh as the city screams at me.
It’s essentially the same as what Uncle Bob is doing, but everyone would feel better because they’d get a chance to vent their frustration in person to the guy doing it.
Rich people do not care what us normies think or want. Soccer team fan bases organize pretty large protests against their teams’ owners and still nothing happens. It sucks but money is the only thing that matters to some people.
The only solution is one year of no watching, no going to games, and no merchandise… that’s it. Feels impossible, but that would get the leagues attention

He is so right. We have talent, the most beautiful ball bark in the MLB and we are under 500 for 5 years. “Rebuilding” for 10 years. So sick of it.
