ouch. That’s literally how I lost a tooth when I was growing up.
Most impressive hit by a White Sox catcher all season
If you took out the player name and the team from the title I bet most people could still guess it is the White Sox
Maldonado moment. Even though I’m pretty sure it was Lee more than likely.
Been that type of year
At least they lead MLB in 6th inning ERA though!
Maybe they suck because they hate one another? Idk grasping at straws here.
Perfect throw though shoutout the White Sox catcher
I want to laugh but it’s too sad
“Balls in, coming down”
White Sox Baseball
Worst thing to happen to a Lenyn since 1893
It’s hard to tell, but I believe it hit the brim of his hat. So it was probably more surprising than painful, at least.
Immediately before this, he was called out on interference. Later, he ended the game on an easy fly ball.
It may have been someone’s night (Jankowski) but it definitely wasn’t his.
My dad beaned me in the eye socket twice, two years in a row, playing catch to make me not terrible. It didn’t work. But apparently, I could have still made the MLB!
Another stat they lead the league in?
POW! Right in the kisser
Maldy right on the money lol
In 2022 I was at a Chattanooga Lookouts game, Sosa (then with the White Sox AA affiliate the Birmingham Barons) hit one of the most ferocious line drives I’ve ever seen, and it broke the fucking scoreboard. The second it left the bat, I let out a loud, involuntary “holy *shit*.” One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen live at the ballpark.
I just wanted to say that so that when a bunch of people first hear of him through this thread, they maybe also read something good about him.
Coach, how can you explain how something so crazy can happen to a major league ballplayer in a game?
White Sox Manager: “Well, it’s Wednesday, so..”
Sum up the 2024 Chicago White Sox in a gif.
Hey Sosa, how’s your season going? Sosa: Huh? Ouch!
2024 peak White Sox baseball.
Damn that’s unfortunate. I hope bad luck doesn’t stick to this team.
legit feeling bad for the south side at this point..
Clueless Joe Jackson
Had that happen during little league warm ups. I was expecting it but a side ways mist and me choosing the wrong way to move after being blinded and 4 hours later in the ER. Fun night!
Throw was on target at least
Worst thing about it is he was able to stay in the game and play for the White Sox.
I saw the title and immediately thought “ooh” and then immediately after that thought “OOF”. I don’t need to see this.
Impossible to watch this without the brain adding a cartoon *BONK* sound as the impact is made
