He watches the puck the whole way and doesn’t make any attempt to regain it after it comes off his stick. The move was intentional.
I don’t remember kuch ever doing that move off a fast break zone entry kind of play maybe I’m just forgetting it… Either way with the chasing defencemen right on his heels this was a very impressive display of skill and composure.
