My favorite player of all time was Magic until Steph. I’m 48 in dec. Steph is the best scoring point guard of all time. Magic is the best point guard of all time. Steph is pretty much AI if he could shoot like that. He is really a 2 and can run an offense. Magic was like a psychic out there. He knew where everyone was at before they even got there. Draymond did more of that in golden state, and no where near Magic’s level. But Brunson has quickly became my favorite Knick. My number in high school was 4 because of Johnny Newman. We don’t even talk about him anymore. I love Ewing and Starks and Mason is from my side of Queens. Melo was dope, but it’s something special about Brunson. I believe he is going to get us that first ring in over 50. Let’s go Knicks.

Jalen's deal might be the most valuable contract in sports, but you gotta look at Brock Purdy. He has yet to make a million dollars in a season and he's been the starting QB on a team that went to two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl. He will make less than 1 million this year, and depending on how they work his contract extension, he could make less than one million next year. That's insane!

Magic isn't just the greatest point guard of all time. The gap between him and second is bigger than the gap between #1 and #2 at any other position!
A PGs main job is to penetrate, distribute, steal. By those standards Stockton is the best PG of all time by a mile. The most successful and versatile PG of all time is Magic. Steph is great but he's a SG playing the PG role.
I love Jalen Brunson and he's an all star level player. However in history, I would put Magic Johnson above him. Not only could he defend a lot of positions, he was a magician when it came to passing the ball and he could score at a high level as well.
In 2024, I would say that Jalen Brunson is the 3rd best point guard in the NBA. Who would I put ahead of him?

I don't think that's taking anything away from Jalen Brunson though. He may take a huge step next season. But right now, he's 3rd in the league (unless Brunson takes a huge step forward next season) and 1st in the East unless Damien Lillard returns to superstar form in Milwaukee.
