  1. This guy is the real deal, and he’s gonna be dominating the league for years to come. Mark my words, Elly is gonna be a Hall of Famer

  2. Elly is quickly becoming my favorite non-Mets player. He’s so fun to watch

  3. That’s cool, good heads up play for sure. But with 2 outs and his speed, I would have stayed at 2nd. Not worth the risk to make the final out of the inning at 3rd. Not like he can score on a sacrifice fly. He’s gonna need a single to score anyway, and he can score from 2nd 95% of the time.

Edit: good point everyone about the passed balls/error scoring. I just know it’s common baseball wisdom to never make the last out at 3rd base, and I think if that pitcher makes a good play, he’s probably out.

  4. Probably the first Elly highlight I’ve seen where he doesn’t lose a piece of equipment on a play like this

  5. “…and I think Payamps, if he catches this ball cleanly and just flips it to third base; he’s (De La Cruz) out easily.”

Yea, I’m gonna sorta have to disagree with you there. I don’t there is any “easily” as you say when De La Cruz is on the base paths!

  6. Conspiracy theory: After Prince Fielder retired he got bored, lost a couple pounds and came back to the game under the name Elly.

  7. Man is the biggest basepath menace in MLB and so fun to watch. He always causes chaos.

  8. I love to talk down on sloppy defense, but this is really barely even a slip up by the Brewers. Elly is just so damn fast that he can take a base on anything.
