[Music] well well well Nick cousins the player we all love to hate unless he is on your team has signed a one-year deal 800,000 with the Ottawa senors the guy that runs almost every player in the league uh from behind and is rated the most punchable face in the NHL by 30% of players by the way and this is actual thing it was a player poll that was done and you might say pixel plus why are you talking about uh you know a bottom 64 and number one I like to talk about hockey and number two Nick cousins is an interesting player to me because he is the type of player that you hate when he’s not on your team but you love to have him when he is he is one of the most interesting players cuz he just straight up runs guys from behind and it’s not even accidentally on purpose he just does it because he just doesn’t care now maybe that isn’t very sportsmanlike I understand I get it you probably shouldn’t do that but my God watching this guy play sometimes I mean the truth is is that you do need guys like this you do you it’s the reality you need these greasy guys that just get under your skin Allah the Shawn Avery who by the way Shawn Avery was the worst human being being to ever exist he was one of the most hated guys I don’t think anybody will surpass him but he reminds me of a Shawn Avery type player you know for a guy that can hardly score 20 points in the league he’s actually okay and he’s stuck around for quite a while I looked at his stats and it almost jumped out on the page to me like he’s at like 590 some odd games I’m like wow that is actually pretty impressive for a player like him obviously there’s not going to be any high-end Talent there but he does what you need him to and the Battle of Ontario needs some juice in it and I am telling you that is exactly what is going to happen here he is going to piss off Lea fans namely me and I have absolutely no problem with that I have I love that stuff I would love to see him and DOI going at it man hockey is great hockey is fantastic I’m already getting excited for the season baby only a month away Philadelphia Arizona Montreal gold Knights Nashville Florida and now aioa AWA this is the definition of a journeyman right he almost reminds me of what would I say like you guys remember Leo kov I don’t know how hardcore hockey fans you guys are but if you you remember who Leo kov is this is the definition of who this player is man you know what the best players in the league are not necessarily players like Nick cousins but it’s like Nick cousins but an actual really good player you know what I mean like almost like a Maran because Marian in his prime he could play like really really really well but he would also piss you off to no end like this is just absolutely true and not only could he piss you off but he could actually play not just play but play like really really good now obviously Marian is starting to slow down but players like this are dying breed in the NHL and I’m telling you right now we’re all going to miss players like this we will until it’s all this emotionless millionaires with emotionless millionaires they don’t even care they’re just skating around the ice we need players like this man honestly even though he’s not on my team I’m going to pretty excited for watching Nick cousins absolutely bury people from behind clean hit baby clean headit and it’s not just that he’s obviously a dirty player it’s that he pissed people off right like it’s so funny how easy it is to get under NHL players skin right it it’s honestly the funniest thing you know one other thing that Nick cousins is actually really good at he’s actually very good at drawing penalties and that is another really underrated thing if a guy can be out there he can be positive value he can piss people off and he can get you on the power play more than another player would that’s straight up just added value I mean let’s not lie here the unfortunate part about him that I would say is he’s kind of like not necessarily that good defensively players like this are a perfect match when they draw penalties they score in a little bit of offense and they’re very good defensively if he has good defensive impacts that would make him you you almost could even play him a little bit higher up in the lineup I mean if he could play D the problem is is he doesn’t really get play well defensively and you look at it like oh boy boy I mean I would want this player to be a little bit better but again I mean it’s a Ford for $800,000 I don’t think the auto senators are going to make the playoffs but who knows honestly I think the aabs if they had well Ivan demidov isn’t playing this year but he could potentially um the Habs are much better I just don’t see Ottawa doing absolutely anything although it would be sweet to see Ottawa and Toronto in the playoffs for sure and hey man he played all right for the Florida Panthers so there you go I mean that’s all you need you just need a guy that can go out there give you some clean minutes be a pest I mean honestly I’m not sure if I wanted the least to sign him cuz who would necessarily would who place would he take but still it’s not bad I mean honestly he reminds me of sha Avery in some ways although Avery was he he was the ultimate rat one of the most underrated rats in the entire world let’s be clear I mean every time I watch this guy play though there’s so many like honestly go go look up on YouTube if you’re on YouTube obviously are look up like Nick cousins like dirty hit like you’ll see nothing but all all of these videos like Nick cousins running this player from behind Nick cousins running that player from behind it’s just endless and obviously nobody wants anybody to gets seriously injured blah blah blah but I mean he he is a hard-nosed player like I wish all players were hard-nosed players not necessarily dirty players but just hard noos type players I think the NHL would be better than that I think the NHL has gotten very soft in my opinion almost very passive like the Battle of Ontario isn’t what it used to be and you know even when they least play the Canadians it isn’t gassed up like it used to be I remember Mel grabovski used to piss off the Canadians so bad in those rivalries I long for there’s usually in the NHL season there’s usually like maybe 5 to 10 games that you point to like man that was such a good game when whoever won or lost it was just an unbelievable game and usually those games whether you like it or not have a lot of physicality and they tend to be have some
