  1. Hard to say. If the Islanders have another season like last year I’d have to say Lamoriello is the next gone. But I can see the Jets rehauling everything if they don’t start as hot as they did last year.

  2. Please let it be RB

(This is also my actual prediction- that we will just miss the playoffs and he gets the can)

  3. I’m assuming Armstrong doesn’t count since they have a succession policy already in place.

I could see it being Blake if the Kings don’t stop spinning their wheels soon.

  4. Rob Blake. Team’s pretty stagnant. Already had a coaching change. Don’t see Lou getting fired in-season, could see it happening to Blake.

  5. Rob Blake is on the hottest of seats surely? Even if they make the playoffs I don’t see a route for them to make much noise in the Pacific

  6. of the longest sitting 4, probably none, they’re all fairly successful and well placed to continue that.

  7. I don’t think he’s the next to go, nor do I think he should quite yet, but as a bolts fan I feel like JBB has a lot riding on this season.

Between the Jeannot trade, the Conor Sheary signing (and keeping), and letting Stamkos walk, if we miss the playoffs or have another first round exit JBB could be on the hot seat.

However, I personally think prioritizing Guentzel over Stamkos was a ballsy, but right move. The only move that I think will really bite his reputation is trading away a whole draft class for Jeannot.

  8. I think Doug Armstrong has already started transitioning to Steen as the next GM if i remember correctly from 32 thoughts.

  9. The Blues announced earlier in the summer that Doug Armstrong will be replaced as GM by Alex Steen for the 26-27 season.

  10. Lou.

As a Ranger fan, I (almost) feel bad for Islander fans. We struggled for a generation with Sather and his unwarranted pull with ownership despite obvious, chronic mismanagement. Lou is the Islanders Sather and they will not get better while he is there.

The ownership and arena bullshit they suffered for 10+ years was ridiculous. Then to have an old-ass GM focused on an archaic hair rule = the misery continues. Dude was extremely fortunate he talked a few key veterans (especially one of the top 3 goalies of all time) into signing for less money, won a couple of cups, and rides that aura of brilliance 20+ years later.

  11. Blake because he definitely doesn’t have any trust from the fans. Lou because the game has passed him by. I know it’s maybe nitpicking but guys don’t want to grind from juniors through the AHL or Coast to get to the military style run team that Lou has. He also doesn’t really make any moves so as for isles fans I can only image how anticlimactic trade deadlines and off seasons are.

  12. Nill will probably have his job for as long as he wants it, but there’s been vague reporting around plans for retirement/succession for a little while now. It would not be a surprise to see him just play out these last two years on his contract and be done

  13. Lou Lam and Rob Blake. I think LA fans are done with Blake and Lou has really put the Isles in a bad situation with some of his contracts. Even if they fire him that team is in a weird spot.

  14. Should be Lou but he clearly has some incriminating photos of someone so I’ll go with Blake. He’s done a good job with the rebuild but they need someone else to take it home.

  15. Everyone saying Blake and I don’t disagree, but Yzerman is extremely overrated. He still gets talked about like he’s one of the better GM’s in the league, yet he’s been rebuilding for 6 years, if they’re not a good team by this year or maybe next he will be gone. I don’t care how bad the wings were when he took over, an elite gm would be able to make any team good in 8 years
