  1. Offense disappears halfway through the game yet again. A couple of these games in the playoffs and the season’s over, just like that.

  2. A bit of reactionary comment tonight that I won’t mean tomorrow but I’m still going to say it

Absolutely terrible loss if we are serious about the 1-2 seed. Cardinals were letting us win in the 10th and we gave it away by letting Turang a non fly ball hitter hit there. And then Pitching Goldschmidt a meatball up 0-2 instead of pitching around him. Peguero needs to go he’s so terrible that I actually would rather watch Hoby. Extra innings is obviously this team’s biggest weakness. Pitching it’s mostly fine but offensively their approach doesn’t work at all.

  3. Real kick in the teeth given the jays shitting the bed in the ninth as well.

Lotta baseball left, get the series tomorrow and move on, stay within touching distance of that 2 seed.

Don’t let the sour ending make you forget Churio being a fuckin stud.

  4. First, Peguero should probably be done with the team for the year and probably forever. Kind of a final audition.

But, the extra inning offense was too predictable, another pathetic extra inning game. Game was over after Turang at bat to win the game to be honest, that shit hurt my eyes. And then yes Willy with the clutch hit but like Sal with the immediate three pitch strikeout. On top of the Phillies coming back from like 6 down. I really don’t want to play in the wild card. Awful night

  5. I wouldn’t be so annoyed if we didn’t have 2nd and 3rd with one out.

    Hesley is nasty.

The good news: pirates played spoiler and lowered the magic number.

The bad news: Toronto was useless.

  6. Piss poor loss. Turang always blows it with a guy on 3rd <2 out, he just does.

I do not understand you guys saying “it’s okay that Contreras didn’t bother to block a ball with the game on the line, because he’s tired.” There is no coach on the planet who wouldn’t immediately make you do sprints if you tried to say “it’s okay that I didn’t try to block the ball, it’s okay that I didn’t run it out, I was too tired”. If the season is wearing on him too much that he can’t block a ball or run out a grounder, then he shouldn’t start every single game. You cannot possibly have it both ways.

  7. Peguero and starting an xtra inning with a man on second, never hath their been a more feared situation

  8. How do you show bunt/attempt bunt on the first 2 pitches in the bottom of the 10th and then swing away on pitch 3?? It’s 1-1 and you can still afford to bunt it foul!

  9. Go grab the series dub tomorrow! Don’t dwell on one L and have a good rest of the night, folks!

  10. We might actually be a 100 win team if Peguero didn’t play for us lol. Dude has blown so many games at this point

  11. What’s with all the shitty at-bats. Frelick, Mitchell, Contreas, and Perkins really stand out from the extra innings.

A guy with stiff mans disease could muster more power then Frelick at the plate.

Hopefully we move him in the offseason

  12. Why the Cardinals always gotta be dicks? Also the data about certain bullpen pieces keeps coming in, what will we do with it..?

  13. This version of Contreras equals a very short playoff appearance. We can manage with the usual below average hitters in our lineup, but he can’t be disappearing for games on end.

Stating the obvious that Peguero will be nowhere near the playoff roster. Don’t understand why he’s even on the team now.

Think I’d rather have $18 mil than Hoskins next year. Oh well.

  14. A completely unacceptable loss. 2nd and 3rd with one out in the 10th has to be cashed in. Using Elvis Peguero in anything other than irrelevant mop-up situations is malpractice.

I believe Murphy is the manager of the year, which is why I’m clinging to the hope that this is finally the last I’ll see if Peguero, who is so preposterously worse than his very mid numbers make him seem. He should be closing games for Triple-A Iowa, not pitching meaningful innings for the best team in baseball.
