Los Angeles Angels Fall to Dodgers, Was Reid Detmers Better? Shohei Ohtani is Tired, & So Are We!

Los Angeles Angels Fall to Dodgers, Was Reid Detmers Better? Shohei Ohtani is Tired, & So Are We!

The Los Angeles Angels fell to the Dodgers in extra innings last night after a standout pitching performance from Reid Detmers and the bullpen. The Angels’ pitching handled the monster offense of the Dodgers well, but it unfortunately came down to a poor performance from Roansy Contreras that cost the Halos the game in the 10th. We’ve got the details on Shohei Ohtani’s in-season return, the nonsense conversations about video tributes, and much more in segment 1!

Then, did Reid Detmers get right in his return to the Majors? We think so, and we’ll share why with a detailed breakdown in segment 2! We zero in on whether or not he pitched “smart” and pitched differently than he had earlier in the season. We’ll give you what changes he made and why we’re hopeful for Detmers after handling a tough Dodgers team!

Plus, Shohei Ohtani was asked about his return to Anaheim, and when reporters asked him about contract negotiations with the Angels, Ohtani avoided the “theoretical” conversation. So, we’re asking: isn’t this a tired talking point? Are we over it yet? Isn’t Ohtani over these questions as well? It’s RANT TIME in segment 3!

  1. I was at the game tonight. Detmers blew me away. I was so pumped for his effort. I think the message was received with him. Ron Washington lost this baseball game.

  2. I was listening to the radio broadcast and it was evident that this was a dodgers home game. If Arte was a good owner he would be appalled at the crowd disparity but he’s probably smiling from ear to ear because he got loads of money on a sell out night. Great game overall though just sad to see the state of this team because of Arte.

  3. For Fan mail Friday. I am hearing that Halos may be interested in Soto for the 2025 free agency. Putting your GM hats on if you had $500M to spend would you sign Juan Soto who is 25 or pick up multiple players Blake Snell $175M, Corbin Burnes $150M, Shane Bieber $100M, Teoscar Hernandez $75M for example. Love to hear your thoughts.

  4. Hope that Detmers can sustain the good pitching! 👍👍 It’s too bad he didn’t get the win! I really hate the Dodgers! I haven’t liked the Dodgers since Tommy Lasorda was manager! I can’t wait for the playoffs and root for the team playing against the Dodgers!

  5. I just want to say this and I no that no one will agree with me but we shouldn't have walked ohtani and just went for it because yesterday I think he wasn't doing that great wasn't on base that much and I feel like we could of got him out but no we did a walk and then screwed are selfs

  6. This team can win against top teams when pitching is solid and Detmers proved that today. If anything front office should have already learnt this when Ohtani was still around. I hope they don't make the same mistake signing big contracts for hitters like Soto (I highly doubt they can afford him tbh)

  7. It was good to see Detmers deal with some struggles and come back from it and watching Joyce is always electric. I think we all knew extra innings weren't going our way with Contreras on the mound, but holding the Dodgers at two for so long is a win in my book.

Hopefully the Ohtani conversation is dead and buried. The whole thing reeks of people trying to stir the pot and like you guys and Ohtani himself, I'm over it. Thanks for the years of service and I wish you well, but I'm not really paying attention to you anymore because you're not on my team anymore.
