Jordan Howden May Have Secured New Orleans Saints’ Starting Safety Role

New Orleans Saints safety Jordan Howden is listed as the starting safety for on the team’s unofficial week 1 depth chart. If that holds true, Howden will be lining up next to Tyrann Mathieu. Howden over veterans like Will Harris and Jonathan Abram is just one of the intriguing decisions on the Saints’ unofficial depth chart.

The competition for the backup quarterback spot remains publicly under wraps, with Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler both listed as QB2. On the defensive line, the Saints are keeping fans guessing by listing both Carl Granderson and Chase Young as potential starters opposite Cam Jordan. Foster Moreau’s designation as TE1 over Juwan Johnson highlights his blocking prowess and experience in the new offensive system, while Taysom Hill’s official listing as a tight end suggests versatile offensive roles.

  1. To be honest!! Every player should be evaluated from game one! Then if that guy isn't performing with consistency, then on to next man up til we find that Dog!!! 💯💯💯

  2. This is what happens when you have Dennis Allen as coach. No backbone and no confidence. No reason to be undecided on any position especially your back up Qb. Remember when he couldn’t decide who he wanted as a DC couple yrs ago? Remember when he waited for the first game of the season to throw Alontae Taylor to the wolves instead of training him to be slot in training camp. DA is a joke and it’s a pattern with how unprepared this organization is. Couldn’t get Simmons then lied about not needing him when he’s def a need. Ready for DA to go soo Kubiak can have this culture back to a winning one

  3. I think we all saw Rattler win QB2 fair and square but if your plan is to keep the competition going for development I say allow them to battle every week to back up Carr. I honestly believe they both could make each other better. Let's be real. Neither one is ready to be QB1 but Rattler over time possibly could.
