Giants AA affiliate Richmond Flying Squirrels announce new stadium for 2026, CarMax Park, with groundbreaking on Friday, 9/6

This has been a looooong time coming.
That said, I worry somewhat that with this new ballpark, the Nationals will try to take over the affiliation for their Triple-A affiliate in 2031.
But for now…new stadium!

Oh man, I lived in Richmond almost 20 years ago and they were talking about a new ballpark for the Braves/Flying Squirrels back then. I have good memories of the Diamond but it’s nice to see that it’s finally becoming a thing!
