  1. His one stipulation is that the Yankees have to stop using Holmes as the closer.

    Boone: *sweats profusely*

  2. OF ALL THE DRAMATIC THINGS

JOHN STERLING IS IN WFAN’S BOX!

    OH GOODNESS GRACIOUS

But in all seriousness, Sterling has hinted that while he doesn’t regret retiring, he regretted leaving the way he did, without any fanfare or closure. Call one last postseason, THEN he’s done.

I don’t see this small return as hindering the chances of his replacements, most of whom are not as good as him anyway (Rickie is great but he’s also the Spanish broadcaster)

  3. I’m trying to imagine a more awful way to announce something.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: John-Wayne Gacy Sterling, 86, wanted for counts of balls and strikes on Yankees radio broadcasts.

  4. Hey at least he’s getting a proper chance to say goodbye to the fans when the Yankees season ends in the postseason.
