  1. I have said this before, this and other lists are meaningless. Pronman is a writer. Period. His knowkedge of hockey is limited to being a fan. He has based his list on what he has read, and with a healthy sprinkling of bias. He has never played the game. He has never been a scout, never coached. He sells clicks for a living. His knowledge of players can fill a thimble. He got his clicks though. 🥱

  2. Re: Hutson. Pronman still has Hutson as a fringe NHL player and PP specialist. I’ve never liked Pronman and he is a reason I haven’t renewed my subscription with the Athletic. Their coverage in general is meh.

  3. I was very pleased to see Harris’s get moved and to get such a great return. MTL D core is looking nasty, top 5 D core in the next 5 years. Can’t believe we snagged Demidov at 5.

  4. Lafrenière's best season is 57pts at 22yo with the RANGERS. Slaf is 20yo and already got a 50pt season with a bottom 5 team.

Whoever did this nhl prospect ranking is a clown.

  5. Pronman is an ignoramus. His ranking of our best prospects does not pass the smell test when our overall prospects are in the top 3 overall.
Please stop praising him as you expose his madness. He is a big boy and can take the criticism.

  6. Not saying anything about Demidov, but Roman Rotenberg is an oligarch and that's the one and only reason he coaches a KHL team. He isn't a true hockey professional, just a fan with way too much corrupted money and power.

  7. Just an exemple: Slaf got 65% more points at 19 than Lafreniere when 19 and also when 20. He also got almost as many points as the Rangers player at 21, after a slow beginning of the season. Plus, add the fact that Slaf is 6'4"., 230, and kept getting better as the year when on. Slaf deserves to be in the top 10 easy, probably top 6 to 8. The thing about Demidov is that we dont know yet how he will look with NHL opponents, but same applies to Celebrini, Michkov, and others. Demidov should be ahead of Michkov. He is as skilled but more complete, stronger and bigger physically.

  8. Hey guys, dont worry, it is just a man's list, a badly flawed man, maybe he destroyed his wheels on his sport car on a visit to Montreal and was real pissed. Top 10 for sure for Demidov and Slaf, top 15 to 20 for Hutson and Hutson. Hutson still has to prove the doubters wrong about being a defensive liability with his size. Have you seen him next to other players in street clothes. My god, he looks like a 15 years old, he is not only short but incredibly small built for an NHL defensemen. I believe in him the way you guys do, but the doubts are valid.

  9. A good way to look at this: which player on this list would you be willing to trade Demidov to acquire? Oh well, to me, only Bedard and Celebrini are a clear YES, nobody else. If I ask myself the question with Slaf, hum… Bedard, Celebrini, maybe Leo Carlsson and maybe e Fantilli, but I would hesitate big time, Slaf is a keeper. This logic tells you that our two young stars are easy top 10, and perhaps both of them are even top 5 on this list.

  10. One thing about your comment on the KHL scrimmage: are you aware that not only the coach but the GM and some of the owners were playing in this scrimmage? It was the equivalent of playing at the outdoor rink, come on guys, I love your passion for Demidov, I see his great skills as well, but come on, that is not a real blue vs white game like we have at the Habs trining camp, nobody on the ice was back checking, there was little no effort to take the puck away from the opponents, and some of the players are in their 40's and not pros. I frankly would not read anything into this game for fun. Even Demidov and Kutz were taking it easy, real easy.

  11. I hope Hughes is working on getting rid of Gallagher and Anderson next, there nothing else to do, they have tons of prospects , tons of picks , good young cores and dvorak is UFA at the end of the season , hopefully they resign Armia . But right now the main and only focus should be on moving the guys that are not in the long term plan of the team

There’s teams out there with over 20 millions in cap space , teams that are rebuilding and would take a bad contract if they receive young assets in return

    Gallagher , 1st in 2026 and b prospect to Columbus for a C prospects and a 4th rounder?

Something in the lines of that👆, overpay if you have too, keeping Gallagher and Anderson in the lineup is a waste of time and space , I would rather see Kapanen and Roy getting some experience, plus you can’t keep demidov, mailloux, reinbacher, and hutson out of the nhl for much longer

  12. Josh, i was really surprised you said meh after Wyatt Johnson's name. The guy is going to be a super star. He had a great World Juniors and fantastic results with the Stars this past year. He is going to be a #1 center imo. And I am a Habs fan and don't like Dallas much.

  13. It seems that Americans who rate prospects cant see any Russians right now because of propaganda. They also have an inflated opinion about US college boys. The are some very highly skilled yankee prospects, but many disappear when the going gets tough in the playoffs. As for Demigod and Michcov, we have to wait till they have played a couple of years in the NHL before we can make an educated evaluation of their performances. I am excited about Ivan's coming to the Habs, but, lets not lose our heads before we see him play here, against highly skilled, and strongly motivated players!
