Fishing with Preds!

Ok, so I’m back from the finishing tournament and had a blast just hanging out with Cole Smith and our fishing boat captain Adam.

TL;DR- Cole Smith is a Nashville treasure and we really ought to let the organization know that.

It was what you could describe as the perfect day to take off work to go fishing, because a bad day fishing is always better than a good day at work. Our boat caught one fish, several sticks, a few giant lillipads, and a couple of trees. Cole, ever the outdoorsman, flexed his fishing prowess and landed the biggest fish of the day. If you follow his Instagram, you’ll see his stories and he is actually a great fisherman. Just one of many talents. He’s been into sports his entire life and has been surrounded by family performing at the pro level, so it’s no wonder he’s a pro hockey player.

Like most athletes, he’s a pretty private guy, probably for good reason. But we can all congratulate him on closing on a new build house in the Nashville area last week, and wish him luck with all the fun things you find with a new build in Smashville 😂

I asked for a few autographs on items, some for the Cole Smith Fan Club, so stay tuned for that giveaway during the season. He did mention that chirping at the bench is pretty unimaginative, mostly “FUs”, and “Yeah, you like that?s” type of stuff. Give them a break, they’re hockey players, not poets. Although he did mention that some of the things he’s heard about has lead to “a talking to” from the league, no further details… He’s pretty excited for this season, for good reason with the recent additions.

A lot of our chatter was around fishing (obviously) and just life in general, getting to where we are, and the fun and exciting things we’ve done in life. Our captain had some great fishing stories and spent a chapter of life in the US Army doing some rather cool stuff. You can follow him on IG @awh_fishing Pretty sure he’d be down to take some Preds fans out for a charter on the lake.

  1. Worth every penny I spent on the auction and I’ll probably try to win it next year, just to get revenge on the fish that got away this year haha
