  1. There’s arguments but I think it has to go to Jaden. That play with him and NAW putting Murray in a blender is pure hype

  2. Perimeter defense has changed over the years so much but it probably has to be Jaden. (If we were taking KG and sticking him at the 3, he would totally lock it up in today’s game but he was never asked to do that and picking KG for half the category feels like a copout)

  3. Anthony Edwards should get some flowers here too. Most defensive win shares on our roster in last year’s playoffs and most after Rudy in the regular season (4.7!). I believe that’s the most by any Timberwolves guard in a single season. He also led the team by that metric in the 2023 regular season and playoffs.

  4. Jaden

    Okogie

Rubio honestly deserves a shout out for all the steals he got but he wasn’t ever a lockdown like the Jaden/Okogie.

  5. Jaden is one of the best perimeter defenders I’ve seen period.

Just to be clear, not the best, but one of them.

  6. McDaniels is probably the Wolves best Wing/Forward perimeter defender, Okogie probably the best lock down perimeter defender, NAW probably the best Guard/ small Wing perimeter defender but I’m gonna say Vanderbilit because of his versatility as a perimeter defender.

  7. KG at his peak basically played the 3 on defense and defended perimeter players a ton. Tracy McGrady said KG defended him the best he’s ever been guarded. Nobody was better on switches in NBA history. I think it’s him, his versatility was just insane

  8. Anyone else remember Trenton Hassell and his defense during our old playoff glory days. Trenton was the Jaden of that era.
I got to play 21 with him back when I was a young teen, awesome guy and one of our best defenders of all time.
