Jeff Daniels played Harry in Dumb and Dumber and is a huge Red Wings fan… Sorry, had to do it. Seriously though, he was drafted 109th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1986. He would play just 9 games in Nashville, scoring 1 goal and 3 assists.
Cale Hulse was drafted 66th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 1992. He would play 225 games for the Preds, scoring 3 goals and tallying 15 assists.
Mathieu Darche went undrafted and played 2 games for the Preds.
Cody Franson was covered on Day 44.
Teemu Laakso was drafted 78th overall by the Nashville Predators in 2005. He played 17 games and had no points.
Frédérick Gaudreau went undrafted and would sign his first professional contract on June 12th, 2014 with the Milwaukee Admirals. He would 84 games, scoring 3 goals and 5 assists. He is still currently playing for the Minnesota Wild.
Yakov Trenin, the Chara buckler, was drafted 55th overall by the Nashville Predators in 2015. He played 283 games for the Preds, scoring 46 goals and 33 assists. He is definitely missed, but at the same time he missed the net quite a bit so maybe it's for the best. He signed a 4-year, $14 million contract on July 1, 2024 with the Minnesota Wild.
Kevin Lankinen went undrafted and would sign a 1-year, $1.5 million contract with the Nashville Predators on July 14th, 2022. Over 2 seasons with the Preds he would appear in 43 games, 35 of those being starts, posting a record of 20-14-1 with a .912 SV% and a 2.79 GAA. I don't understand the reasoning behind Wedgewood, but then again I'm not a GM or Head Coach in the NHL. Regardless, Lankinen will be missed and I sincerely hope he gets another chance to play in the NHL as he is currently still a UFA.
