  1. I guess playing QB in the NFL is hard.

Elway completed 1 pass on 8 attempts for 14 yards in his first start. Manning threw 3 picks and was sacked 4 times in his first game.

  2. I hate how reactionary everyone is. It’s one game, you can’t judge a player based off it. If he still looks like this in week 12, then sure we got an issue but it’s far too early for doomers.

  3. I get the “dont overreact” and “a lot of relly good QBs started poorly in their careers” yeah well a lot more really bad QBs started really bad as well.

  4. We gotta start talking about how play calling honestly was not in Bo and the offense favor.

  5. Holy fuck people are incredibly impatient. Let them cook. Do you want McDonald’s burger or a Gordon Ramsay meal? It takes time be patient don’t let this season make you an armchair expert.

  6. The real crime is for the second straight year we have crap as running team. It’s hard to play qb when the defense knows you can’t run to save your life.

  7. We are going to suck this year.

Don’t get your hopes up and just remember they are rebuilding.

  8. Eh, we all hoped for CJ Stroud-like luck but we got rookie QB luck. It’ll get better or it won’t.

  9. The fanbase wouldn’t be freaking out if the fanbase didn’t spend all preseason acting like Bo Nix was the Second Coming after he threw a six yard jump pass against the Packers’ second stringers. People bought way too much into the preseason hype and the Sean Payton controlled narrative coming out of camp that Bo Nix was perfect and amazing and awesome. Also Payton constantly referencing Mahomes and Drew Brees as to why he drafted Nix and what he could be was an obvious PR campaign.

There was a small (and usually downvoted) portion of this fanbase that kept saying the preseason means jackshit and yesterday was the reason why.

That doesn’t mean Bo Nix can’t be great. It also doesn’t mean that Bo Nix won’t be a bust. But it’s one game. There were good moments and there were bad moments. Give it some time and take a deep breath. Go cold turkey on the hopium, sit back, root for the Broncos and wait see what happens and how Bo plays.

  10. I think this is what a rebuild looks like.

It’s a young team all around. It’s going to take some time. I’m hopeful we start seeing it click over the upcoming games.

  11. A lot of people don’t realize how big of a jump it is from collage to the NFL.

Think about the best player these guys ever faced on the defense throughout college. There is usually only one of those on each NCAA team. In the NFL, the entire team is composed of guys of that skill level or better.

It’s a huge adjustment and the rest of the offense and the coaches weren’t doing him any favors .

  12. All rookies looked like… rookies. I think we’re all so apt to crown these guys when it takes time. Bo definitely did not look great, but there were some good things he did. It was game 1 of 17. Let’s wait until the end of the season to make final judgements

  13. Really? Did you see the rest of our team especially in skill position’s? We have zero speed and nobody can actually break a tackle. Bo Nix could be the second coming of Joe Montana and we would still suck this season. 🙁

  14. Disclaimer: didn’t watch the game live yesterday but got to watch a fuckton of plays today and yesterday night

Bo didn’t look good until the last drive, that is a fact. But he’s a rookie and I can’t recall the last time a rookie QB balled out in his debut for a dysfunctional team with long-inoperative offense.

With that in mind, what worried me the most was our play calling. We have an extremely experienced HC with a hall of fame career in the NFL and he threw his beloved rookie to the lions by forcing him to attempt 40+ passes against defensive wizard MacDonald’s defense. Not only the amount of passing plays was worrying but also their quality, given that most of them screens

One can only hope our coaching and play calling won’t fail Bo next week so he can developed properly

  15. It’s always rough for rookies in their first real game. It’s why coaches need to do things like keep running the ball when the game is still close to try to keep the pressure off them…right Payton?

  16. This is pretty normal. Josh Allen’s first season was hot garbage, but they built the team around him and guess what. That team is entirely different now. I’m not expecting this season to be any good and I stopped stressing about it at this point.

  17. Still not sure how we didn’t dominate the entire game, I mean we destroyed the packers in our joint practice, I had us going `17-0 after seeing that, now I guess 16-1 is the best we can do.

  18. 1 Game in probably one the toughest environments in football. Running game didnt help. And a hand full of passes that hit the recievers right in the hands or on the numbers and they couldnt catch it.

Id say a win for Nix. The great elway played worse in his first game. Most rookies do.

IF i were Payton I think they should go more Shotgun formations similar to how Manning played. More no huddles and establish a rythem. Maybe would open up the run game.

  19. Apart from PS2, do we have ANY players that we can definitely say are top 10 in the league in their position?
